                Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Our only differences are LJ’s rushing yards and Chase’s receiving yards.

I took the under for LJ’s rushing yards just because of his injury history. I hope I am wrong on that one.

For Chase, I think it will be close but am hoping Bear can get enough passes to him and the offense as a whole does enough to disincentivize opposing defenses from concentrating on him.

Injury history is a material reason why I took the under, too. I think they'll also try to get other backs carrying the ball to reduce the wear on LJ. Oh, and I think they'll run Bear a fair amount, too. I'm expecting LJ to be around 800 yards for the season.

I went with the over on Chase because he's likely to get lots of opportunity as the clear #1 receiver. The fall camp reports (which I hope are believable) indicate that Bear can deliver the ball. And Chase is pretty sure-handed. If he stays healthy, I think he eclipses 1,000 yards receiving.

While I picked the over on points, I am expecting a lot of those points to come from rushing touchdowns (including from Bear), with a few special teams and defensive touchdowns tossed in. That's why I picked the under on Bear's passing TDs.

Picked the under on field goals mostly out of hope that he's typcially kicking PATs instead.

I don't know that Glasker will get a lot of sacks, but with the gambling style that Jay Hill seems to favor, it wouldn't surprise me to see him getting the over on TFLs (even though that gambling style could also result in giving up some longer plays here and there).

Since 2000, BYU has only had four receivers eclipse 1,000 yards:
                            • 2008 Austin Collie (1538) – QB: Senior Max Hall
                            • 2012 Cody Hoffman (1248) – QB: Senior Riley Nelson
                            • 2001 Reno Mahe* (1211) – QB: Senior Brandon Doman
                            • 2020 Dax Milne (1188) – QB: Zach Wilson who was only a Jr., but was drafted 2nd overall
Long story short, it's rare for BYU to have a 1,000 yard receiver, and they typically only do when they have a senior / established QB too.

BYU has had 10 1,000 yard rushers since 2,000. I agree LJ staying healthy is key – I think he will and I think we're going to rely on him to be a bell cow back for us.
