It would be great for Colorado and Baylor to shake off these halftime deficits and get some P4 OOC wins for the conference. Baylor needs to find an answer to Auburn’s rushing attack.

Not a great showing thus far for Big-12 OOC. TCU has a chance against the cradle robbin UNC and I don't care if Utah is in the conference I hope the lose.

I too hope the Utes lose, mainly for the entertainment value of watching the heads of Ute fans on Twitter explode.

I don't think Avery Johnson is very good. That may be influenced by the fact that the K State fans that sat by me last were totally obnoxious and so on his jock.

He is very average. He runs the ball ok but is very inconsistent throwing the ball.

We'll see. With a one game sample, it appears that Dampeir is the offense. If he stays healthy, then yes, they will be a problem. Lots of running QBs are able to stay healthy so it's not out of the question. But I'd like to see this Utah offense go up against an athletic defense that is able to contain his rushing ability.

Their defense is solid as always. The UCLA QB is talented and he looked pathetic. All it will take is for their offense to have a pulse for them to be dangerous. A pulse is strongly detected. Of course he has to stay healthy, but with maybe the best overall O-line in the country, I like his chances of being healthy and effective and I hate it.

Seems like they might be a pretty good football team, sadly.

Their offensive line is very good. Defense is as stout as usual. The QB is as advertised. The challenge however is playing multiple players both ways. This isn't little league or high school—it's not sustainable. Who can they find to fill that offensive and or defensive void when those players wear down?

I find it odd that they are leaning so heavily into that strategy. Can't be a gimmick, so is it a depth and talent thing on the offensive side?
                          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

KW has a long history of hoarding the best talent on the team for his defenses. This practice and his inability to relinquish control of the offense is what kept them from soaring to greater heights during the PAC 12 decade. Thankfully, I don't think he will change at this point and will continue to be overly controlling of the offensive side of the ball if things start to go sideways. All the above being said, the two players who had the most 2-way action this week were both recruited as defensive players.

Utah's defense is nasty as always. I don't like the thought of a young Bear facing them midway through the season. But I'm not convinced on Utah's offense. Yes the OL is very good and certainly was sufficient to allow Dampier to run and throw all over a very mediocre UCLA defense. The proof will be in the Texas Tech game. If Utah are able to control that defensive line and put up 30+ points I will get nervous.

Snowden only played in 22 defensive plays, and less than 50 total plays (O, D and ST). They are trying to make sure that overall play is not overly burdensome. Utah has some good defensive backs, so missing our (probably) best cover corner might cause us to second-guess if we get torched on a few deep balls. We shall see.

This is a good point, but I think that Kyle might finally be lessening the "death grip" on things with the offense. something about the way he is talking in press conferences just has me thinking that he knows he is nearing retirement and that has him trusting the OC more. We'll see I guess if Utah can play well enough to have B12 title hopes on the line. This is when I think we will see whether he can keep himself from meddling with the offense or not.
