BTW, after that game, I think we need to share some more love for Parker Kingston. Dude has been so good this whole year. Two punt return TDs. I can't remember a single lost fumble on a punt. At least one passing TD (should have been a second on Saturday night). Always a threat. I don't think we've had a similar special teams threat like him since James Dye back in the mid 90s.

Indeed. Like they said, we were able to put that pressure on the QB rushing either 3 or 4 people. That one play where Colorado was deep in the red zone and gave up a 21-yd sack, we rushed 3 people. Defense was amazing.

Well if we are being precise that wasn't a fumble or even a muff, just really really terrible luck. The only way to avoid that would have been to have some kind of signal that could be yelled to our defensive backfield on a quick kick so the DBs know to break off their pass coverage and concede any field position loss to the punt coverage team. I don't even think that is possible in practice though.

But you might be referring to another one i am not fixated on at the moment.

In general dangerous punt returners are psycho and more prone to take risks, which often makes them more prone to fumbling. I'll always be slightly nervous when he's back there.

And every single one of them got their hands on the QB on that play. I was very happy with the defense, which is why I was so frustrated when the "player spotlight" completely ignored them. Show me Batty. Show me Glasker. Highlight Jakob Robinson. Don't spotlight the QB with negative rushing yards and no TDs at that point.

That awful announcing article that YO posted is correct. Colorado coach and players were the national story so I'm fine with the prepared focus on them and talking about their careers and potential futures. However the frustrating part was the broadcast team's inability or unwillingness to adjust on the fly and talk a little bit about the demolition happening in front of everyone's eyes.

I'm always "Just catch the ball" on punts. Look, the CU punter was crap. No hang time. Kingston was catching the ball with 10 yards open in front of him. He took full advantage.

I agree, and the announcers have received a bit of criticism online for it. They took a “Colorado didn’t have it today” angle at times instead of focusing on the higher-ranked team that was whooping on its talented opponent.

BYU played an overall outstanding game. So fun to watch.

Kind of wild that our best linebacker coming into the season had to medically retire. I don't want to say we didn't miss Ben Bywater, I would have loved to see him play, but they didn't miss a beat. Glasker, Taggart, Kelly and the rest were fantastic.

Agreed. Thought the loss of Bywater would be a big problem but the linebacking core really stepped up.

A very fun bowl experience, my most relaxed since Oregon in Vegas. Despite being somewhat outnumbered, BYU fans were much louder even in the early stages of the game. One hopes this results in a top 10 finish, landing some good recruits and portal transfers, and retaining a couple of others who have another year of eligibility. And kudos to the coaching staff. They had the team ready and pumped. Next year should also be a lot of fun, and we've got months to bask in the afterglow of a truly outstanding (and surprising) year.

Saturday is always a special day-but some are more special than others!

BYU put on a clinic-at least defensively. Truly a top 5 BYU team/season of all time IMO. 1980, 1983, 1984, 1996 and 2024. I think Kalani has this thing pointed in the right direction and administration appears to be committed to removing self-imposed limitations to success. Our joy is truly full! I guess recruiting rankings could be better-but BYU has not played a team this year where I felt the opponent had better athletes and it had an all time great season with a QB that is not as good as the QBs from the other 4 great seasons. That tells me that the overall and collective talent is much higher than a 52 recruiting ranking. Further, the precision improvements in the portal this winter are great trends. The NLI situation is allowing BYU to negate a decade and half head start that Utah had in the P4/5 bonanza. It is truly a great time to be alive for BYU fans!

As for Army- another fabulous season or a Service Academy team under Saint Jeff Monken. Indicators are he is staying at West Point for the long haul until he retires. My beloved Black Knights dismantled a crappy team from a one time women's hoop power where the mailmen delivered, and they did so without their best RB who bolted via the portal to be Skatebo's replacement at ASU. I am thinking my best comparison of Kanye Udoh to Skatebo is summed up by Lloyd Bentsen-Kanye Udoh is no Skatebo.

That video should be shown to every safety in HS and college to demonstrate how to make hits without drawing a penalty for defenseless receiver. When you wrap up and stay away from the receivers head you give the official the cover they need to keep the flag in their pocket.
