Is their details in how this 2 quarterback system is going to work? If they are splitting time equally during a game it will not be a good thing for BYU IMO. If Jake is the starter and Riley is going to play in certain situations I think it could work.

I think they know they are going to play both in some way against UW so this way fans and media don't read too much into it when it happens during the game.

This will be interesting. My real impression is the two qb system is going to be less and less 2 qbs as the season progresses. I see it being close to 50/50 as the season opens and by the middle of October I could see the percentages being closer to 66/33. I guess much of it depends on if Jake Heaps blossoms like a rose and if the rbs develop.

On the other hand, Mendenhall has invested some significant time into developing an offensive scheme that accomodates Nelson's skill set so part of me really thinks he is going to ride this a bit more.

Time will tell. But my perspective is this makes BYU more dependent upon pure athleticism rather than really focussed execution. Historically, BYU's core competencies are reflected better in execution than athleticism.

Nothing to do with testicular fortitude. Hell, my nuts are the size of small watermelons. It has to do with, besides Florida circa '06, the failure rate of a two QB system being in the 90th percentile.

The only 2 QB system I can think of in the past that has even worked half ass is Chris Leake and Tebow at Florida. This seems a little desperate by Bronco.

I don't even think that was a true 2 QB system. Leake ran the offense and Tebow came in on short yardage 3rd downs and cleanup duty If I remember quickly. I don't think this 2 QB system thing works for too long. Maybe Bronco isn't planning on keeping it too long. Maybe he needs someone to fail first.
