We had neighbors freshman year of hs bolt to Loveland’s town to play football, and I heard be seen by recruiters. Older son rs at ISU, didn’t come back and play, younger one signed with Eastern Washington, Covid year. Neither played down of college football. One even told tv reporter he hoped to play in pro,s. They get bulls out of the way at rodeos now.

Can’t blame him. The refractory period after that season was going to be prolonged in the best of circumstances.Originally posted by Pelado View Post

Now, I am looking forward to a return to the Mike Shula version of Alabama.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

AA might have been worried about him in the sense that Kyle isn't spending enough time in the bus lane.Originally posted by BigPiney View Post

I'm a little surprised that DeBoer is leaving Washington for Alabama at this point.
Things are changing rapidly in college football. Between the large fanbase/alumni numbers, and the money in the Seattle area from the tech giants like Amazon and Microsoft, it seems like there could be plenty of money to go around for both coaches' salary and NIL deals. Unlike the Silicon Valley based schools, there are lots of people at the games.
On the other side and probably more important than that, where is Alabama going to get money from for NIL going forward? I believe it is the second poorest state in the country behind Mississippi.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Alabama end up like Nebraska where it has been stuck in mediocrity for decades.

Football is more important than religion in the South. Alabama fans will pay to an NIL collective before they donate to their church. Money will never be a problem for Alabama football. While Alabama as a state is poor, there is a lot of old family money in the hands of rich white families that love Alabama football. Texas A&M is the same. There are a ton of filthy rich oil executives that poor money into those schools and that oil money isn't drying up anytime soon. Tech bros don't really care if Washington wins a national title. Oil bros would sell their first born for a national title.
The Huskies rarely get over 70,000 fans in the stadium. I bet LSU and Alabama get 70,000 people that tailgate and don't even have tickets to the game. Go to a game in the South and you'll see why DeBoer picked Alabama over Washington."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
