ESPN is going to give us a gazillion per game, even if we go back to being the average BYU team they decided they didn't want in the early 2000s, don't worry it'll all work out.

So what are the insurance premiums on a thing like that? All you need is a manure-spreader jack knifing on the highway....

At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I am not following this closely, as I have said before, but I thought the truck was already purchased or at least going to be purchased for the media programs at the school? OTOH, I really find it hard to believe that a truck, regardless of how much it costs, would put ESPN hot on the cougar's trail. Come on, a truck?!? One truck?

but I really have no idea.
                PLesa excuse the tpyos.

lol. That's a good summary of my feelings about the TV truck discussion.

If the truck was strictly used for Football you would be correct. But that fact that KBYU and BYUtv are seen in 60 million households worldwide will help off set those costs. Not to mention I am sure when it was purchased they had the idea of leasing it out in mind. If ESPN is leasing it that will also help.

Umm...I don't think BYU bought the truck for the sole purpose of broadcasting BYU and ESPN football games. Maybe there was a little bit of foresight into this possibility, but the truck is most likely part of the BYU Broadcasting network that includes KSL, BYUTV, KBYU, etc. Getting ESPN or someone else to lease the truck's capabilities was probably factored into the cost/benefit analysis.

Who knows, maybe some day we'll be able to watch "The Pump" in stunning HD on the Mormon Channel.

I sure hope that if ESPN employees are allowed in the HD truck that they don't swear, drink coffee or chew tobacco. That better be in the contract.

And I don't think getting ND scheduled, especially into a normal rotation, is a small task.
