I would almost put money on him being the next Head Coach at BYU.
GMan had some tweets today about the coaches retooling the offense for Riley.

Heaps was poised to blow him out-of-the-water after spring, but coaches have installed an offense much more conducive to his strengths
with that offense, Nelson has really made up a lot of ground and him doing so will help this football team...we're for the best guy
I wonder how much of that has been Doman and how much has been Anae? Either way, I think it's great the coaches have shown the flexibility to adjust the offense around the talents of a player. From what I've read, it seems like each QB has basically run an entirely different offense (though part of me wonders how much that has contributed to the offensive struggles we've seen so far).
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

A lot of people have commented that his throwing has really improved since the spring (though some of that may just be the fact that he's now being asked to make easier throws), but I, like you, am just not convinced that he can make enough plays with his arm. Of course I haven't watched practices or scrimmages in the way some on this board have, but it seems like even looking at the stats he really hasn't had much success throwing the ball against the 1st team defense, and I think there's a reason for that. Earlier in the week when I looked at the cumulative stats, nearly 40% of his total passing yards for fall camp came in situations where he was running the 1's against the 3's. To me that just doesn't bode well for him going up against a lot of the defenses we're going to see.

And I'm also not sure how big of a threat he is on the run. It seems that he's definitely a threat to get out and move when stuff breaks down, but not the type that's just going to break off a bunch of yards with his legs.

He seems to have a little of each, but maybe not enough of either. I think he'd be great in certain situations, though I'm just not convinced he's going to be good enough with an open field going against starting defense. But I guess we shall see, and I really like his mentality (and I think that's what Bronco really likes about him too). He seems like one of those types that is a football player above even being a QB, and you've gotta love those types.

I don't have the insight that HL has, but Doman is clearly our best recruiting coach. Jake Heaps didn't come to BYU because of Bronco, he came because of his relationship with Doman. I think Doman also relates to the players better than anyone on the staff. He has a great football mind and will make adjustments rather than just continue to preach execution only of about 6 plays.
