Is my math wrong on this one? Maybe I don't have all the facts.
If that is the case then the solution is to either move the boise st game or skip a year. I wouldn't ask byu to play only 5 home games. I thought they had 7 home games.

I know. But since MRD is trolling I thought I would throw my own in there.

Serious question. Why is Utah moving in 2011 when Colorado wasn't scheduled to go until 2012 and they're not receiving any PAC-12 revenue in 2011? The only thing I can think of is that the PAC-10 didn't want Utah's previous performance to count towards the AQ bid for the MWC.

One, nothing is settled on Colorado. Dan Beebe is recently quoted as saying he hopes to see CU out of the Big 12 by 2011 (paraphrased).

Two, why would Utah spend multiple seasons in the MWC as a lame duck? They get the "recruiting bump" the sooner they join the PAC-10, too.

I understand nothing is settled on Colorado, but initially it was clear Colorado would leave in 2012. Once Nebraska announced they were leaving in 2011, Colorado has started to push for that also. At the time Utah was invited, Colorado was a 2012 entry. Why the rush for 2011 when at the time, Colorado wouldn't join until 2012 and Utah wouldn't be paid in 2011?

On your second point, do you think it will matter to recruits that much? One year with the assurance that they will be playing for the Rose Bowl as an upper classman doesn't seem all that big of a deal to me.

Most MRD threads are SU-esque threads as well.

Is CU playing the in PAC in 2011 an issue with their buyout and not being able to afford it? Nebraska is leaving in 2011 and it seems like there is no question of issues with that at all. I am assuming that they have the cash to pay the penalty to leave.

LES seats almost twice as many folks as RES.

It makes it smart to host every game there. Split the money 50/50.

Why should the game ever be played in RES? Les than 40k people get to experience the game live.

I am just thinking about the fans of both teams here.

                              Here's my answer:

Becaseu I dont care about the Utes enough to screw around with the bYU schedule or to accomodate them. The Utes moved to a new conference. Good for them. Now the game with the utes is an OOC game and if it happens on BYU's terms, great. IF not, thats ok too. BYU might schdule 2 in a row under some circumstances but not this one. I see nothing here that makes me think BYU should make this allowance.

Moreover, the peevishness here isnt just with BYU. Utes want this to happen so they can feel better about themselves. "See? we didnt screw things up! We are still going to play every year! It's OK! we are all still good freindly rivals and nothing has changed at all!" And if you start to deny this, save it, you know it is true.

Bottom line; we just dont care as much as you think we should.
                              PLesa excuse the tpyos.
