The only way I see the Cougars staying in the MWC is if they get full control of their TV rights and allow them to have their ESPN/BYU Sports/Local contracts as well as a penalty free exit should a BCS conference come calling.Originally posted by Ted Nugent View PostHmm...
She didn't do any research about the potential TV contracts BYU has on the table? Why would BYU go indy?
Like finding the Mtn channel is easier? In Texas you have one option to even get it.
When did Sark become BYU's "favorite son"?
LOL. This sports writer (?) is clueless. This is just yet another example how college football in Denver is dead. CU will not be missed by the Big 12."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

Do you think statman's right hand wife knows what his left hand is doing with my mother in her mid-70s? I assume not because of the integrity he boasted about earlier in the thread.Originally posted by landpoke View PostI don't know, I think its got a day or two yet.Get confident, stupid

If this rumor is true then I see BYU sharing some of that ESPN money for home games with the rest of the conference with BYU getting a larger share (because of the broadcast building use by ESPN). For road games it might be more of an even split of the FSN/KSL money between BYU and the MWC. Thompson would be stupid to let this new TV contract money leave the table. Of course, he has to get the Mtn/Comcast to agree to all of this.Originally posted by Surfah View PostThe only way I see the Cougars staying in the MWC is if they get full control of their TV rights and allow them to have their ESPN/BYU Sports/Local contracts as well as a penalty free exit should a BCS conference come calling.
As for exiting the conference I could see some kind of exit fee for leaving early."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Come on BYU. Say something. Anything. Well, anything other than we're staying in the MWC and on the MTN network. Don't say that.

Not every MWC source jumping on the Denver Post bandwagon tonight.DesNewsEborn
A source at USU tells me to not be so hasty in believing the Denver Post report. Take that bit of BYU/MWC news from Logan however you want

and one more for good measure. You may not like his writing, but Harmon does have connections,

For BYU to stay in the MWC, the league presidents and TV partner would basically need to give BYU its rights back for TV.

Eborn is a good one to follow on this,

Remember, BYU & ESPN had deal set w/ WAC before it got derailed. ESPN is right with BYU in all this. IMO, Cougs will not be in MWC in 2012
