The only way I see the Cougars staying in the MWC is if they get full control of their TV rights and allow them to have their ESPN/BYU Sports/Local contracts as well as a penalty free exit should a BCS conference come calling.

The only way I see the Cougars staying in the MWC is if they get full control of their TV rights and allow them to have their ESPN/BYU Sports/Local contracts as well as a penalty free exit should a BCS conference come calling.

If this rumor is true then I see BYU sharing some of that ESPN money for home games with the rest of the conference with BYU getting a larger share (because of the broadcast building use by ESPN). For road games it might be more of an even split of the FSN/KSL money between BYU and the MWC. Thompson would be stupid to let this new TV contract money leave the table. Of course, he has to get the Mtn/Comcast to agree to all of this.

As for exiting the conference I could see some kind of exit fee for leaving early.
