Dang it, we wanted Bama - Independence Bowl 2021

Bama-lite will have to do. Good riddance to the independent era.

Would it be better to just sit out the 2022 and 2023 seasons?

Big 12 would be pissed if we sat out our first year in their conference.

My bad, looks like football joins in 2023.

BYU has played in the Freedom Bowl, All-American Bowl, Liberty Bowl, Armed Forces Bowl, and the Freedom Bowl. The only patriotic bowl game BYU had not been invited to was the Independence Bowl.

The Independence Bowl began in the bicentennial year, 1976. I was astonished when I read that this bowl was missing from BYU’s impressive list of bowl invites. It’s a family owned bowl game full of southern cuisine and hospitality. The stadium in Shreveport exists solely for the bowl game and residents look forward to it all year long.

The condescending attitude Greg Wrubell and others have towards this bowl invite is a bit much. It’s a fine bowl deserving of excitement and respect.

Kalani Sitake will have the team spirited and ready for the game, I hope the fans do the same.

BYU is tied to a generic Kroger style ESPN Bowl game next year, so enjoy a legitimate privately owned bowl with a long history, recognizable name, and dedicated stadium while you can.

Odds that Kalani has been laser focused on bowl prep over the last couple of weeks?

Harris LaChance is back. Gunner Romney is back. Baylor is starting. Chaz Ah You will probably see some playing time.

This ain't no trap game. This is a blaze of glory scoring rompfest to audition for a high ranking in 2023.

                  Dear Kalani: RUTS.

BYU has a friggin weather delay, but it doesn't matter because Deion Sanders decided to extend the reaming his team is getting. 31-10 right now with 6 minutes left to play. C'mon folks, get off the field.

Interesting. Any word on why Baylor is starting? Is Hall injured?

Yeah, he's still injured from the USC game.
