No kidding. They're not even in the conference. If they were, I guess they could all tie.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Postplease explain how not only one, but MULTIPLE teams from a different conference could possibly win the MWC this season?

Guess the Huskers are back to playing the Longhorns in bowl games only...where they have a perfect record against them. It aint much, but that's all I got...as you well know.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostGiven that Nebraska doesn't have to get past Texas this year I can see that.“Not the victory but the action. Ahem.
In January 2011 Sagarin rated the PAC-10 the top football conference:

Perhaps. But I don't think there is a MWC team capable of winning the Big Ten this year either (or any year).Originally posted by byu71 View PostI don't think a team from the BIG10 er 11 could win the MWC this year.“Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory.”

LA Ute. I am indifferent to whether the PAC-10 is the best football conference or not, but you should be more careful about the language you use. What we find in that table is that in 2010 the PAC-10 had the highest sample mean Sagarin rating. Certainly the mean is not irrelevant but it is not necessarily the best measure of conference quality. Second, I am about 95% confident that the average rating for the PAC-10 and the SEC are statistically indistinguishable from each other. At best one can say that while the PAC-10 had a higher mean rating, we cannot reject the hypothesis that the PAC-10 and the SEC have equal mean quality.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostAhem.

Not even Boise State or TCU? They might not win the Big XII or Big Ten outright, but either team would be very close to the top.Originally posted by Paperback Writer View PostPerhaps. But I don't think there is a MWC team capable of winning the Big Ten this year either (or any year).
(Actually, TCU needs to prove itself with a new QB this year so that would temper the outlook somewhat, but Boise will be very tough.)
