He also addressed the question of what was a better long-term scenario for OU: staying in the Big 12 or moving to another conference.
“I think if — if — we can get the Big 12 on the right track, if this comprehensive plan could be adopted, then I would rather stay in the Big 12,” he said. “I think that would be to our advantage. But it’s something that we really need to have happen. But we just need to wait and see what develops. Certainly, my first choice, if we can get the right things done in the Big 12, the right steps taken, especially these three, then I think we ought to stay in the Big 12. If it just doesn’t happen, then I try to think long-term.”"If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

http://wvmetronews.com/2016/01/13/ly...um-beer-sales/Big 12 expansion:
After Lyons predicted the NCAA vote would provide ”a roadmap as to where we’re the conference is headed,” the Big 12 isn’t compelled to grow in order to stage a title game alongside other leagues.
However, Lyons estimated he discusses expansion “probably once every couple weeks” with WVU president Gordon Gee, a member of the Big 12 expansion committee.
“It’s in the finding stages,” said Lyons, who suggested growth would hinge upon the ability of new members to help establish a network channel."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

I really do hope the Big 12 expands and adds BYU. But if Texas won't agree to giving up the LHN, I think OU would join the SEC before the Big Ten. I would be surprised if the Big Ten invited OU even though it would be awesome to have Nebraska and Oklahoma in the same division and back to playing every year once again. Will OU be able to persuade UT to compromise; something it would not do for either Nebraska or Texas A&M? I hope so.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostSounds like OU is very willing to entertain the possibility of Big Ten or SEC invite if the Big 12 doesn't respond to his demands. I confess, part of me wants this to happen for you guys, but I'm not hopeful. Normally I find your trolling highly entertaining. However, this post rings true and is causing me pain. Normally I would be encouraged by the quotes you shared from this article. But somehow "...title-game-expansion-coliseum-beer-sales..." in the title doesn't help my faith in regard to BYU joining any conferences.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Post
