The word is "pantywaist" (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/pantywaist) which is completely SFW as far as I can tell but effectively conveys the meaning.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI am trying to think of a pejorative worse than "aggies" but I am coming up blank.
I have no particular dog in the Texas/aTm fight. In Houston, the fan breakdown goes something like 50% Texas, 30% aTm, 10% LSU, 5% UofH, then everybody else. I suppose Rice and TCU account for about .000000001% each. Anyway, it's been amusing to watch the Texas/aTm "rivalry". aTm fans are like a bunch of abused puppies, cowering as soon as you so much as mention their school. Goatnapper would call them stringpullers, but I think that is offensive to the other people he calls stringpullers (that's in addition to the general offensiveness of that term). I haven't seen anything like this since the day after Ty & Co. hung 70 on Utah.
Texas fans are complete and insufferable assholes of the highest order, but I think that description applies to many fan bases. Including my own, perhaps - I'm obviously not an outsider enough to say.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

Because it was before school was back. A lot of missing students.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostWhy was the stadium so empty for this game? Seems like a game against a Big 12 team would have brought out the fans...
This season was the first season of my mission. I have never seen this game. Or any other games from that season, for that matter. Dang. I should hit up BYUtv.org right now!

There was only about 55k for this game. The top on both sidelines and the north EZ weren't full. The most empty seats I had seen at a BYU game until the Crowton years. (usually those games were still full until at least halftime) If I remember correctly it was the last Saturday in August, it was an earlier start time and it was hot. A&M probably brought 10k fans. The northeast EZ was all Aggie along with the normal northwest lower visitor section.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostI remember it being full. It was the first game of the entire college football season...the pigskin classic or whatever it was called. Maybe all students weren't back yet? Again, my recollection was it being full. I was actually sitting in that corner It was a student section and a lot of people weren't there because school hadn't started yet.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostI remembered it being full as well. When I saw this video last week the other time it was posted, I was shocked to see the empty corners.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

I'm not saying it didn't happened, I am just saying that my memory was not accurate.
Amazing that only 45k cougar fans could generate the noise they did after that last TD.

Assuming TAMU decides to stay put in the B12, I would hope the conference realizes that the conference as it now stands is likely only one defecting team away from crumbling. They should push to go back to 12 and regain some stability.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if there would be an exit fee for leaving the WCC? I heard rumors that as part of the deal with the WCC that if BYU received an BCS conference invitation that they would be able to leave penalty free. But I never heard much more about this than speculation.

T-Ho's full comments just after yesterday's scrimmage
One interesting portion:
“Well, I think there is something going on,” Holmoe said. “From our perspective, we have not been contacted by anybody. Never have.
“It is our feel that we are going to move forward. We have a big, big football season ahead of us, and there are a lot of things going on right now within our program that move us forward to independence, [such as] ESPN and BYU broadcasting. So our strength is moving ahead,” Holmoe said.
The athletic director declined to say whether BYU has a buyout clause with the West Coast Conference, where most of its other sports have been placed.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Based on those comments, I don't get the feeling that BYU isn't interested.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Post
