If the Swami is right, I don't get the Big XII's fascination with Louisville. I think the Big XII needs to go bigger. I think for the right price, a Florida State or Clemson might take a look at the Big XII. If you add one of those schools along with BYU, that’s a big splash.

Indeed. In fact, they should be thinking bigger than BYU.Originally posted by Scorcho View PostIf the Swami is right, I don't get the Big XII's fascination with Louisville. Are there any bigger schools outside of BYU and Big East teams to take? All of the other conferences are much more stable than the Big12, so what would entice a bigger school from those conferences to make such a move?

I wonder how tied Florida State, Miami or Clemson is to the ACC? They don't have a long history in those conferences (except Clemson), aren't really basketball schools. If they could make more cash in the Big XII, maybe they'd jump?Originally posted by Sullyute View Post

Details on the OU deal with Fox Sports.
And when Longhorn fans throughout Texas can't get the Longhorn Network, they can always flip on Fox Sports Southwest or Fox Sports Houston, where there will be plenty of Sooner content for them to watch.

And they'd be important games, because in '13 we'd be competing with KU for worst team in the B12 and it would likely be one of our few legit shots at a W.Originally posted by Surfah View PostI just remembered Jake transferred to Kansas. We could face him as junior and senior.

Lots of chatter on other boards as well.
http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=159&f=4582&t=8629147&p=1In the past 24 hours, I have heard from two boosters that there has been a breakthrough with BYU and the Big XII. That ESPN is looking to renegotiation Big XII Tier 1 rights, and is pushing for BYU to be a part of them, that BYU is ready to not renew with the WCC. Texas has conceeded on 12 for the league. The big change being when Ok St. didn't get in the MNC game -- leaving UT concerned that a Big XII champion without a league championship game could get left out of the mix.
Then two different local radio shows are reporting the same thing. So either the boosters I represent and the local media are getting bad information from the same source or something is coming down the pipe.
As an added curiosity, everyone is also consistent that UofL is 12. There is a lot of smoke out here...still unsure if there is fire.
PS: Yes, the puns of including both brewing and smoke in reference to Provo is intentional. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=159&f=4582&t=8629147&p=1I'm torn on BYU...if they agree to all the Big XII's terms then you really are getting a team that has rich tradition, above average athletic teams and a nationwide fanbase...I fully believe BYU is the #1 get in the state of Utah, not the University of Utah (although if I had gone to school in that state, it would no doubt have been to Utah...definitely not BYU).
Duh.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.
