no wonder the pinheads in COB are against it. BYU loses enough money as it is.Originally posted by YOhio View PostBig 12 money is burning a hole in our pocket already.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

That's just a guess. I could see him working through football schedules with BYU for an announcement that BYU is staying independent. I just can't imagine BYU chartering a plane on Sunday. I can see Holmoe flying on Delta or something, but I have a hard time seeing a bunch administrators chartering a plane on Sunday.Originally posted by Surfah View PostHe stayed all weekend?"To the man who only has a hammer, everything he encounters begins to look like a nail."

What you have to ask is how bad ESPN or Fox (whoever has this 10 team clause in their contract) wants BYU in the Big 12 because if they don't care a contract can be easily renegotiated to 9 teams. I know the Big 12 says they want to get to ten teams, but I really don't think they are that worried about the contract.Originally posted by Surfah View PostYou're wrong. Louisville is bound by the Big East. They can't leave for 27 months. The Big East is keeping Pitt and Syracuse to that.
With TAMU officially gone now, there are only a handful of teams that can be added to the Big 12 before July 1, 2012 to keep their TV contracts. And really only two of those are desirable. And one of those ain't moving.
Louisville and WVU are likely in the picture, but only as teams #11 and #12. I fully expect BYU to be added as team #10 within a week and two more Big East programs in a year or two.Last edited by Flystripper; 09-25-2011, 04:46 PM.Dyslexics are teople poo...

That is a simple prediction to make since you won't be a fan anymore.Originally posted by BlueHair View PostBYU isn't going to turn down an invitation. BCS inclusion is everything they've been working for. I suppose there is a slight chance that BYU doesn't end up in the Big 12, but BYU won't be the reason.

The likely reason, if any, that BYU remains reticent. And if so, there should be no surprise.

BYU wants some guaranteen that the conference will stick together for awhile. That has never been a secret. So far, the deal isn't done. If it gets done, them there is no more issue, no?Oklahoma president David Boren said the nine remaining schools besides Texas A&M agreed last week to give a six-year grant of their first- and second-tier television rights to the Big 12 for the next six years. That means all revenue from the top television games — shown currently on networks owned by ABC/ESPN and Fox — would continue to go to the Big 12 even if a school bolts to another league.
That deal, however, had not been finalized.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I agree, so long as they're not making less than they do now. Then they care. I can't imagine Baylor giving up its rights without that document being signed. My guess is it is done now.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostThe likely reason, if any, that BYU remains reticent. And if so, there should be no surprise.

Uh......yep! And bear in mind, it wasn't just Baylor that was holding the SEC hostage with that card. Other B12 schools used similar tactics. Today the SEC announces aTms official move. They have stated publicly that the legal issues are no longer issues.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostI can't imagine Baylor giving up its rights without that document being signed. Done deal.
Or, in the alternative, several B12 schools and their cabal of attorneys had a change of heart and decided to relinquish their leverage over the SEC with no promise of anything of value in return. Uh.....nope!Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

In reference to A&M going to the SEC officially, this still means very little to BYU."Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."
