As for the minorities, they usually move us to the front row so TV world can see the not-whites. The perks of being brown in Provo as I've always seen it: if your not white, your instantly popular.

Does that also means it overstates the fan bases foir schools like Stanford and Cal?

My unreliable opinion based on the methodology would be that the bigger issue would be understating the bases with a more rural demographic rather than overstating the bases in more urban areas.

I do think that this sort of information is more useful than "footprints" and whatnot, but it also seems that it would take a lot of work to get a reliable data set.

Yep. 80 million CFB fans, and we're taking gospel a survery of less than 30,000 people? That's 0.000375 percent of college football fans.

I could come up with a truer fan count representation by driving around and counting license plate frames and bumper stickers.
