I was at that game, about 6 rows back. It was great. The ute yell leader was being a complete ass, I mean, Utes gotta Ute, right? Still it was a pretty dumb thing for the kid to do, and he got the worst of it anyway.
Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

I was right there too. I think I was 2 rows back. Close enough that I could hear the kid complaining about the cheerleader before he jumped out there.

I heard the cheerleader transferred to BYU.

As I remember it the cheerleader was a RM. The kid was going on a mission but it got delayed due to this incident.

The BYU kid was the younger brother of a friend of mine. The delayed mission part is correct.

The cheerleader later enrolled in a BYU ROTC program.

What was his name? I wonder if he ever commissioned.

Billy Priddis, and yes he did. He went Army, MP, 82nd Sustainment Brigade.

Recap of the whole incident, including some extra things done by Priddis earlier in the game that may have contributed to the whole thing.

I remember him running around with that flag taunting BYU fans. We all cheered as the kid jumped out and tackled him. Then watched in horror as the cheerleader proceeded to beat the shiz out of him. lol, good entertainment, though.

So weird. I could have sworn that I was at this game. At least I thought I had memories of watching the cheerleader punching the BYU fan. Except that I was in Brazil when it happened. Probably just interference/cross-contamination from another universe or something.

That is exactly how I remember it.

The only thing I remember even stranger than this was the game where our AD at the time, Val Hale, got into a shouting match with the refs. That was pretty much the end of it for him, if I remember right.

I was sitting with the blue hairs that game. Besides 'the beat down' I remember Mighty Mouse giving BYU a beat down of his own.

I think it's pretty interesting the disparity between OKC journalists and Austin journalist re: BYU to Big12. Swaim: done deal; Tramel: If B12 expands, BYU is the clear first choice. Austin American Stateman folks (can't remember their names): No one is talking BYU and "if I had to guess, BYU will not be in the Big 12."
