Do you recognize volleyball, track, cross country, baseball, swimming, rugby, and golf as sports? So you equate gymnastics with football? Gotcha."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

I'm just repeating what the BIG12 thinks of no Sunday play. Personally, I think your commitment to not playing on the Lord's Day of Rest admirable. Also, I admire your decision to not play against Utah, whether they are on the schedule or not.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostGlad to know the Lord's rules are weird to you. Please reread. I don't "equate" gymnastics with football, that would be crazy! I merely equated one aspect of the sports (rivalry domination). Sorry if there has been confusion.Originally posted by Topper View PostDo you recognize volleyball, track, cross country, baseball, swimming, rugby, and golf as sports? Things about to get hectic up in here
http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/col...ally-quick.ece
The preliminary positioning is over.Back in August, Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State were predicted to be the Big 12's best. They've met expectations with a combined record of 30-1 -- and Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops is probably still trying to figure out what happened against Texas at the Cotton Bowl. Led by No. 2 Baylor, the quartet gives the Big 12 a total of four teams in this week's AP Top 25.
The stakes are only going to get higher with the first College Football Playoff rankings set to be released Tuesday.
November has arrived and the Big 12 race is about to get real -- real quick.
Think of it as a series of elimination cage matches leading to Baylor-TCU on Nov. 27 and Oklahoma-Oklahoma State on Nov. 28. Forget the usual ESPN and Fox Sports announcers. The upcoming matchups cry out for someone like Jim Ross, the WWE broadcasting legend and hardcore Oklahoma fan, to bring a WrestleMania vibe.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

memphis and houston are getting on my nerves

Gee is not only WVU’s president, he’s also a member of the Big 12’s expansion committee. I bring that up in case you haven’t noticed that a couple possible league expansion candidates have been faring very well this season. Memphis is up to No. 15 in the most recent Associated Press football poll and Houston is No. 18. Might the rise help those teams’ candidacy?“We’re being very cautious,” Gee said. “Right now we’re happy with 10 teams. There’s no template to measure anything.”He referred all other comments to Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby. One note to keep in mind on a couple different levels though: Houston coach Tom Herman was once hired by Gee at Ohio State. Herman was the offensive coordinator there.- See more at: http://www.wvgazettemail.com/article....soa6IGDS.dpufFitter. Happier. More Productive.

B12 backloading could hurt
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...ease/75068856/
The Big 12 spent the offseason in existential crisis after one-loss co-champions Baylor and TCU were left out of the first Playoff field. Both teams are unbeaten, as is Oklahoma State. Oklahoma, with an inexplicable loss to Texas, is playing really well.
And all those contenders play each other in November, which means the Big 12 could produce some of the best drama of any Power Five league down the stretch.
But what happens if they all beat up on each other, without time to rehab from the losses? (Or if Oklahoma wins out and then has to sweat out a résumé comparison against other conference champions with better losses and similar wins?)
Two consecutive seasons without a berth in the Playoff might lead to a Big 12 championship game — and to more Big 12 college presidents leaning toward expansion, never mind the lack of suitable candidates.
Be afraid, Big 12.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

West Virginia is getting on my nerves. Those guys should be grateful to be in the Big12. Instead they act like the Big12 owes it to them to expand eastward.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Post
I am saying this about the run of the mill WVU fan. Prez Gee has been on the record about being very favorably disposed to BYU, and I salute him for it."Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."

Looks like they should add Memphis and BYU. Then they could have a game annually with "brawl" in the name!Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Post

Cincinnati is a big school, the second biggest in Ohio. 43,000 students. Also, according to wikipedia, it is one of the world's top 200 universities. If it were in Latin America, it would be Harvard, Princeton and Stanford all rolled into one.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

So instead of trying to get into the B12, they should play fútbol.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostCincinnati is a big school, the second biggest in Ohio. 43,000 students.
