      Yes, it's synonymous with 'boor.' We also have hundreds of other terms, phrases, and euphemisms that are particular to our lexicon. If you'd like, I can point you in their direction.

        I have never heard yankee used as a synonym for boor. Can you double check that for me in the OED?

        That being the case, kind of funny that you would use it in the same post where brag about being patronizing. So still, lol!

          Can we get back to the original context? Did you know that BYU did really well in softball and track this year? I think that there's a game-changer when it comes to conference affiliation desirability.

            Don't patronize the softball fans around here.

            BYU got to the Super Regionals in Softball this year for the first time in history. (This is the Sweet Sixteen of Softball)

            They did lose both game to Arizona though.
