That's very helpful, thanks. How about facilities not necessarily open to the public?

George Curtis was in the bishopric of one of my wards at BYU, and we got a tour of the facilities. I can't compare it to many other facilities, but they certainly beat what we had at Murray High School, for what it's worth.

The weight room is close to being 6's. I can't really make an argument between the two. However the meeting room's, training room's, equipment rooms, locker room that is used daily and the study hall areas are just bigger with more resources and nicer stuff.

Don't get me wrong, Utah's are good. They are really good but BYU built a facility that has all of this and it is all top notch.

Thanks HL - I also dig a fully enclosed bowl stadium and think the idea of having UTAH or UTES on top of the Einar Nielson fieldhouse is awesome.

I know KWhit really likes the weight and training facilities per a recent desnews article. But I have heard that BYU's are high quality and nice. It sounds to me like once Utah completes the south endzone RES will be a pretty amazing place.

I wish BYU would fill in the corners at LES - can you imagine how loud that place would be? I'm thinking it would be almost as loud as autzen.

LES is a pile. Every game I go to I think it is a pile. Scenery? Great. Atmosphere? good. The design and finish of the stadium just doesn't hold up. I am pretty sure that is why the PAC 10 didn't invite BYU.

All Utah facilities are far behind Oregon. I hope you son still sees the light of being a Duck.

I take it you've never been to Husky stadium. Scenery? Great. Atmosphere? Good. Design and finish of the stadium? Well . . .

Washington recently announced a huge stadium renovation plan, $150+ million if I remember right. Very much needed, Husky Stadium is a great setting without a good seat in the place.

Unfortunately he does. I'll be coming to a game w all the boys this year and will let you know once we choose a game.

Autzen is an awesome stadium. I'd love to tour the rest of the facility.

Steve Smith's donation went entirely toward endowing a football scholarship, and had nothing to do with facility improvements. FWIW.

Hot Lunch is correct. I've been in both. The locker rooms at RES suck but the locker room and meeting rooms in the IPF (I can't remember the name of the IPF and football building at the U) are quite nice. BYU's Student Athlete Building is state of the art in every way. Both schools IPF's are very nice. I give the U an edge in community access. I've played lacrosse and reffed little league football games at the U's facility.

It's better than the majority of CF stadiums I've visited. With that said it's a little bit spartan looking.

The stadium is a pile of doggy doo. The fact that you can drive your boat or sea plane to the game makes up for it in a big way.

the 'interior' of LES is nice... the concession areas always seem very crowded and inadequate. but, i think coach is wrong that it's a dung pile. the mountains and the steepness of the stands is pretty awesome. maybe game-day atmosphere isn't so great, but that doesn't seem to be a priority at all to the cougs' program (in other words, they haven't embraced tailgating).

what makes the locker rooms crappy in RES? And what would make them really boss?
                                I intend to live forever.
                                So far, so good.
