The Ute in me says BYU can rot in non-BCS purgatory

Funniest part of this whole 2 month episode is watching Ute fans finally admit that for more than 2 decades their program was a laughing stock. Took a jump to the PAC-10 to finally admit it because it would mean admitting that it wasn't just BYU that beat you regularly. Spare me all of your "I freely admitted we weren't any good" crap, btw. I dunno, there's something about this post (ok just about all of your 53 posts) that gives me the impression you just don't get what this board is all about.Originally posted by Top Ute View PostI could change my mind on that. There's so much unknown about how Utah will be strengthened by the Pac-10 as it pertains to BYU's future. Maybe there's no difference at all, outside of more $$$ and opportunity.
In five years, BYU being in the Big 12 might not mean anything. In five years, maybe it gets you off life support. In five years, maybe Utah's won a Rose Bowl or contended for a NC, and our dislike of anything BYU completely dissolves.
I will say this -- chief at the top of my reasons for wanting to keep BYU in non-AQ purgatory however would be to spite f-----g douchebag Zoobs like Flystripper.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

I haven't read this thread except for the title but I have a feeling it's stupid. I thought this BYU fan had the right perspective:

He uses red font. I dont trust him. (and dont give me that sooner crap as an excuse; any true BYU fan hasnt liked the sooners since barry Switzer made fun of them in 1984)Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostI haven't read this thread except for the title but I have a feeling it's stupid. You're right. I don't get what this board is about when I say BYU deserves to be in a BCS Conference and I get told I'm a fucking douchebag. I certainly don't get what it's about when a Utah fan, over the most innocuous of posts (not this one), tells me to take a flying leap.Originally posted by pellegrino View PostI dunno, there's something about this post (ok just about all of your 53 posts) that gives me the impression you just don't get what this board is all about.
I'm honestly trying to play nice here. I'm not interested in carrying the flag at every opportunity like I frequently was on CB. But I haven't said anything that a segment of BYU fans wouldn't say themselves if the shoe were on the other foot.
My guess is the name of this site a complete misnomer. A site in which only the apologist, ass-kissing, self-loathing, grovelling and milquetoast-ish of Utah fans will be welcome, where they can come to prove with all their might that they're not nearly as repulsive as (some) BYU fans think.
At least CB is honest about its intentions with the name of its site.

You have very succinctly described the vision I have for this board. His last paragraph is what sparked the expletive from me.Originally posted by Katy Lied View PostI will apologize for my "u" and "c" contributions. This doesn't mean I dont support Flystripper in his quest for descriptive phrases, but I now feel bad about it. I dont think TU used profanity in his initial post.
The first sentence got me going and his closing shot pissed me off. If he can't see why that would come off as douchebaggery then I don't know what to say. I know my response was not exactly high class. It was emotional.I would never say I want BYU in the Big 12, but I would never say that if such a bid comes, that it is undeserving of such status. Keep doing what you're doing, and at the very worst, you'll be heavily mentioned and considered in any expansion talk -- a clear step up from this go-round of expansion.Dyslexics are teople poo...

"The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."
"They talk about the economy this year. Hey, my hairline is in recession, my waistline is in inflation. Altogether, I'm in a depression."
"I like to bike. I could beat Lance Armstrong, only because he couldn't pass me if he was behind me."

That last paragraph got me too. (Well, really just the one sentance from that paragraph). One day in and a few fans are forgetting the only reason they made it in is because Larry Scott shot his wad* on Colorado right before getting bitch slapped by Texas.Originally posted by Flystripper View PostThe first sentence got me going and his closing shot pissed me off. That said, I still think Utah Football cuts through the new conference like a hot knife through butter.
*I mean this in a metaphorical cannon-ey way.

I'm sorry you took it that way. I know you're wound-up about this, so I forgive you for your outburst. It wasn't long ago where Utah was faced with the reality BYU fans are dealing with -- about being left behind. It wasn't my intent to be neener-neener about this.Originally posted by Flystripper View PostHis last paragraph is what sparked the expletive from me.

But I think the seriousness with which BYU was involved in expansion this time around is a fairly black and white issue -- just like the record books show 2009: BYU 26, Utah 23 (OT), but is known around here as "Scoreboard!"
