The Ute in me says BYU can rot in non-BCS purgatory

Exhibit A: BYU - when Utah was busy putting the shotgun it its mouth in the 70's and 80's.

While I don't think it is a zero sum game, it has a large effect.

Funniest part of this whole 2 month episode is watching Ute fans finally admit that for more than 2 decades their program was a laughing stock. Took a jump to the PAC-10 to finally admit it because it would mean admitting that it wasn't just BYU that beat you regularly. Spare me all of your "I freely admitted we weren't any good" crap, btw. It's just funny is all.

I could change my mind on that. There's so much unknown about how Utah will be strengthened by the Pac-10 as it pertains to BYU's future. Maybe there's no difference at all, outside of more $$$ and opportunity.

In five years, BYU being in the Big 12 might not mean anything. In five years, maybe it gets you off life support. In five years, maybe Utah's won a Rose Bowl or contended for a NC, and our dislike of anything BYU completely dissolves.

I will say this -- chief at the top of my reasons for wanting to keep BYU in non-AQ purgatory however would be to spite f-----g douchebag Zoobs like Flystripper.

I dunno, there's something about this post (ok just about all of your 53 posts) that gives me the impression you just don't get what this board is all about.

I dunno, there's something about this post (ok just about all of your 53 posts) that gives me the impression you just don't get what this board is all about.

You're right. I don't get what this board is about when I say BYU deserves to be in a BCS Conference and I get told I'm a fucking douchebag. I certainly don't get what it's about when a Utah fan, over the most innocuous of posts (not this one), tells me to take a flying leap.

I'm honestly trying to play nice here. I'm not interested in carrying the flag at every opportunity like I frequently was on CB. But I haven't said anything that a segment of BYU fans wouldn't say themselves if the shoe were on the other foot.

My guess is the name of this site a complete misnomer. A site in which only the apologist, ass-kissing, self-loathing, grovelling and milquetoast-ish of Utah fans will be welcome, where they can come to prove with all their might that they're not nearly as repulsive as (some) BYU fans think.

At least CB is honest about its intentions with the name of its site.

I would never say I want BYU in the Big 12, but I would never say that if such a bid comes, that it is undeserving of such status. Keep doing what you're doing, and at the very worst, you'll be heavily mentioned and considered in any expansion talk -- a clear step up from this go-round of expansion.

It's not a site just for milquetoast-ish Utah fans. But it is a site that demands some measure of wit and style, especially from Utefans.
