You know what, I don't give a damn what any national voice has to say. Utah is getting paid and we can use that money to improve a lot of things about Ute athletics.

No argument here. If the results are seen on the field there's even less room for dissention. Who'd listen anyway? If Utah becomes competetive in the PAC it won't matter what disgruntled PAC-purists say.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostUtah is getting paid and we can use that money to improve a lot of things about Ute athletics."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

I think we'll see this opinion from many of the Pac-10/12's local versions of Gordon Monson. I like the fact that much of the positive stuff about Utah joining is coming from guys like Bruce Feldman and Joe Schad of ESPN and Stewart Mandel of Sports Illustrated.
Yesterday, the locals out here in DC (who used to have a national show) didn't even know that the PAC 11 was looking at adding anyone else, they were just talking about how weird it was that they just added CU and nobody else. So, I'm sure this will stun a few people, but it seems that many of the national ESPN-type guys understand and endorse this move by both Utah and the PAC 12."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

This is my feeling all along. The money is great, but for me the reason to be in a "more prestigious conference"(national perception not mine), is to fight back against the naysayers of our previous success..."well, you have a gaudy record against lesser competition. YOu wouldn't survive the conference schedule in a bigger conference" We have a chance to validate previous success.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostNo argument here. I'm being sincere. Utah has made it's choice. I say take the money and run -- don't look back.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostI don't know if you are kidding or not. If you are kidding, then
