Washington in 1991. Before that Arizona State in 1975, 1970, and 1957 (not in PAC-10 at the time), and UCLA in 1954. Even half of the national championships that USC eanred came with one loss. One loss National Championships aren't going to cut it anymore. Its a tough conference.

Mr. Crimson sorry to say that you will not see a penny of that pile of cash, also the Holiday Bowl is for the 2nd place Pac-10 team so you will not see that either.

Funny that the Holiday bowl is prestigious all of the sudden, it was not to long ago that I was reading on this very board about how BYU has never played in any major bowl games.

I have been thinking about the first Utah game I attended as a Ute. It was this one:

I remember sitting at about the 40 with other students. I had walked up late, still got a good seat. It was not a packed house by any means. Far from it. I sat on wooden bleachers that needed a new coat of paint and some repair. The only memory I really have of the game itself is Mike Fouts tossing a bomb down the middle to someone, maybe Henry, not sure. That was the year we lost the opener to USU and then got torched by Rice and BYU, then Wisconsin in our bowl game.

It is hard to imagine how far we have come 14 years later. It would not have been easy to script it any better. Lots of Utah fans have been around much longer than I have, but it is gratifying to look back and see how far we have come in short number of years I have been a fan. I think there are a lot of fun times ahead. Today is a great day to be a Ute.
