Boise does not impress anyone who matters. Boise is a freak of nature that will expire.

Ah. Two BCS bowl wins = not impressive. Duly noted.

Boise smacked down by the MWC! Love it. Shove it hillbillies! Sorry, we did the math and Boise didn't pencil out. (Right now, we got bigger fish to fry too.)

I guess you will now praise BYU. You don't think they would have been smacked down unless BYU said so, do you?

I've gotta think this means Utah is not going to the Pac-10. If Utah was going, the MWC would be all over Boise St to join up.

I think it means that it makes no sense for the MWC to be doing anything until the BCS conferences sort themselves out.

If Kansas and Colorado are in play then we need to make sure they are on board with bringing Boise into a conference. If the MWC teams could somehow get Nebraska along with Kansas State and Iowa State then a couple of the bottom feeder MWC schools might be starting to get nervous.

I don't know. Personally, I agree with your sentiment, but I can see a certain logic in thinking that Boise should be invited now. If BYU or Utah do leave, you already have a replacement, and if they don't, you have a much stronger league in the eyes of the BCS folk.
                    Not that, sickos.

Boise's not going anywhere, so there's no rush.

If the chips fall the way they seem to be dropping, this is my guess for where we'll all be in about 24 months...

                        Big 12

                        West

                        BYU
                        Utah
                        Boise St.
                        Colorado
                        UNLV
                        New Mexico

                        East

                        Kansas
                        Kansas St.
                        Missouri
                        Iowa St.
                        TCU
                        Houston

I am led to believe that the Big 10 isn't going to go whole hog until they can get Notre Dame, and that won't be this year. I think they'll take Nebraska and stop there for now (that part I'm least confident about).

I think UNLV and New Mexico ride our coat tails in because of basketball, a potentially nice market (in UNLV), and two built-in bowl games.

Personally, I think it'd be a blast of a conference from a fan perspective, and we should be able to garner enough political pressure to have a chip or two in whatever the BCS becomes.

                        Fingers crossed...

That's a basketball conference, not a football conference.

Anyone know if Boise's bowl game goes with them or is it tied to the WAC? I think it goes with them. Adding another bowl berth and a chance at the BCS is enough reason to add BSU. Another good year by two of the top MWC 4 would get it done and the MWC would have 10 teams and 7 bowls.
