No kidding. TCU could have made a legit national championship run this year by beating Boise last year. Too bad.

You could be right, though. This high ranking might not be obviously good for Boise. They might be very upset and wish they were ranked lower.
go easy on them, triplet. They don't have much experience with the whole contending thing.

The Darnell Dickson/Daily Herald MWC preseason poll...

Darnell's 2010 MWC predicted order of finish

        1. TCU
        Almost entire offense back

        2. Utah
Gets TCU and BYU at home

        3. BYU
Young but talented team will be tough in second half of season

        4. Air Force
Could be the year Air Force pushes past the Big 3

        5. Wyoming
Trying to ride momentum from bowl win

        6. Colorado State
Rams looking for a new QB

        7. San Diego State
Year 2 of Hoke/Long should produce results

        8. New Mexico
Nowhere to go but up for Lobos

        9. UNLV
New coach, new attitude, same results?
BYU could beat Utah at home (maybe). TCU should dominate Utah. TCU's only speed bump really in going 12-0 is Oregon State.

Those that peg SDSU for 7th do so at their own risk. Aztecs have more seniors than any team in the conference and have the league's best passing attack. Several of the mid-pack MWC teams have to come to San Diego (UNLV, CSU, AFA), and the non-conference schedule is significantly easier. UNM and Wyoming should also be wins (especially the latter, for which Aztecs should have plenty of motivation after last year's choke job).

Put me down for 7-5, 4-4 MWC for SDSU and a spot in the Poinsettia Bowl.

I have to agree with you on SDSU. There is no way they finish 7th this season. I would rank them no lower than 5th this year and they could push Air Force/BYU for the 3rd or 4th spot because they do have talent on that team. A really good q.b. and maybe the best wide receiver combo in the conference. I think they will open some eyes this year.
