BYU's lone "national championship" tainted?

It's nice for me to be able to play the ignorance card about this whenever I want to do so, as if this alleged championship really did happen, why didn't I hear about it? My MP was even a professor at the BYU before and after his time spent babysitting missionaries, but he told us nothing.

If it had really happened, wouldn't the good people of Italy have been begging us to baptize them, no?

Technically, I think it is a big shiny metal football to prove it. I don't think there was a crystal football back in 84.

At any rate, it was definitely the result of a consensus vote. The consensus of college coaches agree with us. As a non-coach, SeattleUte's opinion on this matter is evidently on par with tooblue's non-coach basketball analysis of the BYU/K State game.

I don't know that the comparison works. Deep Blue has probably accomplished more than the University of Utah football team will ever accomplish.

Crystal trophy was given during halftime of the Utah game. It actually wasn't real crystal, though. They agree with SU and awarded BYU a replica that was actually made out of recycled sprite bottles.
