Doman and Scalley make the list. Good for them and their teams.

Scalley is getting credit for Muniz and Huff neither of them signed with Utah. Who else did he land? Reese and who else? (this is not a knock on Scalley, I am just curious)

      Rivals lists the following:

      Zach Bolton
      Jacoby Hale
      Damian Payne
      Michael Walker
      Wykie Freeman
      Terrell Scott

Morgan had a rough year in that 4 of the decommits were his recruits:

      Darian Lazard
      Muniz
      Huff
Jacoby Walker(although I think he used Utah to leverage a scholly from Arkansas)

Along with Reese, these are the others that Scalley recruited and signed:

        Zach Bolton
        Wykie Freeman
        Jacoby Hale
        Damian Payne
        Michael Walker

I'll let you decide about how good they are, as I'm not big on following recruiting. Here's the link where I found this info:

Sitake stikes me as a great recruiter for the U. Is this correct? I could be off. I don't pay a lot of attention to it. But he seems to be tighter with the Poly community than anyone on BYU's staff.

I think they meant to include Muniz and Huff as examples of Scalley's 'spot on' evaluations, since both were targeted and won over by other programs in the end.

The little I've heard is that Sitake really has a good relationship with the Poly community, especially in Hawaii. My understand is that he and Fehoko's dad are cousins, which really helped in Utah's favor.

"Without Doman, Heaps wouldn't have signed with BYU."

                Is this true?

I found that a little over the top myself.

I'm not sure, but based on everything I've heard, the bond between Heaps and Doman is pretty strong --- which may end up coming home to roost during the offseason QB battle.

Straight from his moms mouth it is true. She told me in TBS chat one day that without a doubt the main reason they decided on BYU was because of Brandon Doman. She said they love coach Mendenhall but Doman is on a different level.

Scalley is in charge of Texas for the Utes and he is the best recruiter on the staff. It is interesting that the best recruiters for both Utah and BYU are fairly young alumni of the school.

I was thinking about this and wondering if it was a trend in College football as I know that Josh Heupel is a great recruiter for Oklahoma.

Being a great recruiter is usually about

                              --being reasonably personable
--working your ass off, flying around the country, sending endless text messages and other communications

I would think you burn out quite easily doing this, and there's a reason why most of the best recruiters are relatively new.
