David James said on the radio this morning that he expects Boise to be in the MWC in three years. The MWC wants them to stay in the WAC and dominate for the next couple of years. When they switch to the MWC, they will be able to bring their high rankings with them to bring up the 4 year average of the MWC.

No offense to you, but David James doesn't seem to know what he is talking about, or maybe that is me. There are 4 year review periods. The next one is in 2012. In 2012 they will look at the MWC's body of work from 2009 to 2012. A member of the conference must be a member for 2 of those 4 years to have their body of work included. If BSU does not join until 2012, their body of work would not count until 2016, which would, at that point be all against the MWC, in David James Hypo.

So his logic sucks, or mine does.

I took it to mean they would be invited in 2010, play their last year in the WAC in 2011, and start playing in the MWC in 2012. I thought 2012 was the last of the 4 year review period, but I might be wrong.

At least three jobs. The Jazz, KUTV Sports, and his morning radio show. He is by far the best TV sports guy in Utah. Granted, that's not saying much.

Ummm. No. BSU's academics rank it up there with Utah Valley. They still grant 2-year technical associates degrees like auto repair. If the PAC-10 thumbs their noses at BYU for its poor academics, it will laugh out loud in Boise's face abut their's.

BSU = NOT A FIT for the PAC-10. Not even close. They'll take Utah & Colorado.

The PAC-10 doesn't care about BYU's Academics. They care that BYU won't play on Sunday, which is when the PAC-10 plays a large portion of their basketball games.

I think the first year of the current review period began in 2008, because I recall hearing that the MWC ranked 4th last year, ahead of the P10 and Big East. Which means, if it's the case that Boise won't count unless they are a member for at least two years, they would need to join now.

Actually I don't think that is case. We looked the schedule for at least the men's games and there were only a handful for the entire year.
