As one who enjoys close games. I like for it to go down to the end..

The creation of this thread continues to prove that all BYU fans still have deep wounds from last year's game that they are desperately trying to remove. It also proves that all BYU fans are mentally unstable and obsessed with the rivalry. There is no dry humor or friendly intentions; I happen to know for a fact that every BYU fan who adds to this thread is doing so with a whiny, self-righteous, insecure, persecution complex. The Utah fans who reply are only doing so as a Christlike means of helping their brethren heal from the trauma, because in fact no Utah fan cares about the game nearly as much as BYU fans.

It couldn't be. Not only did 2006 break the string of Ute victories, but the in-game circumstances--no time on the clock, score a TD or lose--as well as the nature of the play itself--slow developing, shuffling one way, running the other way, throwing across his body, the ball hanging in the air for what seemed like eternity--set that photo up to be as great as it is.

I just wanted to add myself to the thread.

              10/10.

I'm just talking technical aspects of the photo. The Ransom shot is right there, at a fantastic angle, at the exact right moment. The George one is a bit farther away, after he's already crossed the plane.

A blow out is worse. As a fan, I want my team to have a chance at winning any game. For me, the TCU loss was more troubling than either BYU or Oregon

And all i'm saying is that, even if the technical aspects of the photo were equal, there is no way the 2008 photo could top the 2006 photo.

Right, but it's nowhere near topping the 2006 photo. It's not even close to equaling it. It is several grades below the 2006 photo. I'd grade the 2006 shot as an A, and the 2009 photo as a C.

Blowouts, no doubt. I'm getting too old & fat for any more "last play" type games.

Normally I would agree with you. I would love to blow out Utah, but it's great to rip the heart out of your rival at the end 3 out of the last 4 years.

Nothing can top Beck grabbing his ass like he's Ace Venture...

Technically not true. I love the Ransom photo, however it would likely not be in SI or other such publications as it does not show any faces.

I am not saying that makes it bad or wrong, but if a photo is to be published by a sports outlet the thing that all the photogs are looking for is to see the player that is the center of focuses eyes. So the best technical aspect to the photo would be to have taken it from up field and see Harline's eyes. Also most of the photogs don't like the ball in mid-air. This is really frustrating to me as I think it adds a cool effect, but I have been emailing the local AP photog a decent amount and sharing some of my pics with him. He basically dismisses them right away as a missed shot if you have the ball in mid-air.
