These media members promote contests and segments of programming dedicated to "trash talk" between the two sides. They mock and call disingenuous players who choose to play it straight and avoid bulletin board material. They want someone--anyone, to say something--anything, to stoke the fires. They know that inflammatory = entertaining, and they seek out the outrageous.

Then, when a player like Max Hall lets loose and reveals his personal feelings of hurt (or hate), he is attacked by these same media members for a lack of sportsmanship and class, and is derided for his forthrightness.

Agreed. Who do you remember more from 1993 Lenny Gomes or Travis Hall? The latter was a far superior player to the former, but because of his stupid pumpin gas comment Gomes has enjoyed almost 2 decades of fame/infamy, depending on your allegiance. Max has now risen above, Doman, Walsh, Hancock and other who beat Utah but for the most part have been forgotten.

the funny thing about the Hall comments and the injury to Whit's wife is that for this year, the Ute fans will try to claim the moral high ground and the BYu fans get to let out the thin skinned comments. The yin and yang are fulfilled.

That happens every year. The looser always finds something to provide the victory in the fight for moral highground. Sometimes BYU players don't make the Ute pussies work too hard to find their moral highground.

            I hope she's older than 18.

It's too bad Freud is not still around. I think Goatnapper would make a great case study for him. There has to be something Oedipal about his constant reference to female genitalia.
