  • This thread is funny. Lebowski said it best that these comments are the perfect thing for Ute fans to deflect from what the pain they truly feel by coming up short on the field.

You can quote me on this: "Max Hall is basically JazzyUte on steroids."

I like the kid and respect what he has accomplished, but I am ready for the next BYU qb. He is what Wayne Howard would have been had he won more than 20% of his games against BYU.

I am sure there is an LACougar! out there who has met Max and will testify that he is trully a genuinely lovely soul despite his final memory being a pissy sore winner.

But anyone who can get sports fans, and Ute fans specifically, into a string pulling uproar has some of my respect. I just don't think Max is trolling like Austin Collie did two years ago, I think the kid really thinks like that.

It wasn't a great game it was a great outcome.

            Lol you'll love this one:

I just checked the box scores of BYU's games against TCU and Utah from this season, and Utah had a better defensive performance! Held BYU to fewer yards and fewer first downs than the Froggies did!

            Woo-hoo!!

Hey Goat, thanks for the cheap shot. Your team won, remember? You're following Max's lead, I fear. Find me a Utah coach who said anything close to what Hall said after winning a game against his rival. You'll be looking a long time. No, the Lenny Gomes-type put-downs seem to come from one side in this rivalry.

Wayne Howard, wait I guess he never won. Wait, maybe he was the coach when McMahon lost. Besides, why would Ute players have any reason to hate BYU.

                        Yeah, I don't remember 1978 either.

                        • FWIW, the last two times that BYU beat Utah, they went on to win their bowl games (UCLA, Oregon). The last two times that BYU lost to Utah, they lost their bowl games (Arizona, Cal).

LA, relax. You are too old and principled to care too much about the game. I just think Wayne Howard is a fun guy to rib about. I don't get into the beer thing but I think that Ute fans probably had some of what Max said coming to them. That doesn't mean I don't think Max has a bitter punk aspect to him and I doubt every teamate of his will miss him.

I think I ran Hall's comments through those language boxes for mormons and in the real world it comes out: "I am still the king of the f'ing Hill!"

How could anything Max Hall say bother Utes? Honestly, Don Mattingly has a higher career BA than Max has a completion percentage against the Utes.

There were a lot of years they beat Utah and lost bowl games. I don't know who BYU faces in a bowl game but I think they will play pretty well. Hopefully an opponent not to familiar with BYU's offensive schemes.

I think that it is sfe to say that Max is very relieved that they won, because he would likely be getting roasted with the heat of a million suns right now.
