I started going to the U in '87, and started dating my now wife in '88. Her family are die hard Ute fans. Her dad was in the marching band and worked at the U. We both love sports, and so we started going to the football and basketball games together.

    And thus, love was born.

Oh, and it helped us too.

1.) No, SU is a condescending bitch and my blue collar upbringing causes me to want to vomit each time he posts any post that has reference to either "War and Peace" or a Greek Tragedy.

      2.) No.
Idiot, comparing something thick to War and Peace is an old, timewarn cliche. It's not elitist. I bet you missed the double entendre too.

My parents met and married while at BYU. Growing up in New Jersey and Kansas, my brother and I watched games with my dad on the church satellite, running outside or into the gym between quarters to reinact what we watched. My brother was Steve Young. I was Gordon Hudson. We were unstoppable.

I'm curious as to what you heard the BYU fans discussing that struck you as so wrong. Racist comments about players? Complaints about caffeinated soda? Mocking the referees? Extolling the virtues of polygamy? What was said at a basketball game that could affect you in such a profound way?

It was probably byron rex flipping off the crowd in Hawaii.

I loved Byron Rex, but he was about 30 years past the time young SU was silently disapproving the chatter of the BYU fans surrounding him.

He overheard someone say "Back to the reservation for U." This was before dry erase boards, so the BYU fan literally had to spell it out.

It was presented on a felt board, old school Elder style.

I know you're mocking me. How would it make you feel to know that I got 14 red stars yesterday for admonishing MRD's brother for crossing the all-important line for active Mormon Utes in his anti-BYU rhetoric?

In that case, I don't blame him for being angry.

nothing gets my dander up faster than felt board racism (with the exception of finger puppet racism).

14 Stars! Top25UFN here we come!

I am genuinely curious about what you heard that was so offensive. Fans talk about a lot of things, but the discussion is typically game related. What so unnerved you that you still remember it to this day? Was it their perspective on sports? Did you overhear some religious or political discussion?

I voted no in the poll....you know the one with the question "Did you read SeattleUte's post?"

                          Whose the idiot now, jerkface?

I think I just guessed a War and Peace reference was included. You know I am a bright one that is why I turned down my Presidential Scholarship to the BYU in order to attend the local junior college, you know the instructors there could be openly gay!
