Everyone knows Stanford hasn't dominated or been better because it has other priorities.

I said all Stanford has to do is realign its priorities to care more about football and it can dominate the Pac 10. Your response? Standford hasn't dominated therefore it can't. IDIOTIC response. Sorry, just being honest.

It can dominate. and it has. Just not in football. For whatever reason, it has always been mediocre in football while excelling nationally at almost every other collegiate sport. See Directors Cup rankings for empirical evidence. Also, Stanford (along with SC and UCLA) ranks in the top 10 of overall national championships across all collegiate sports, so clearly the school cares about winning.

Look, stop beating up on USC. They've been the best professional football program in college sports for decades now.

So, let me get this straight, USC lost to Washington and then lost to two other PAC-10 teams by a combined, what, 135 points and they are still in the top 20. Man, its good to be USC.

My favorite quote was from Steve Spurrier back in his Florida days. Something to the effect of "keeping my offense from scoring points is the other team's defense's job, not mine."

I think that is about right. Class is an overrated commodity that only matters on CB.

Mankind lacks testicular fortitude and whining about RUTS is what fans of teams that suck do.

I agree with you and Steve Spurrier.

Whining about RUTS is for wussies. If you don't want the other team to score, stop them from scoring.

This year's squad turned out to be pretty weak, in fact probably shouldn't even be ranked. Yet Washington, Oregon fans storm the field. Stanford players celebrate and gloat. After 7 years of winning, it probably feels really good to finally dethrone the champs.
It always cracks me up when lesser-caliber teams get all excited over defeating a big-name in an off year.

I remember in the mid-nineties, the goalposts would get torn down at every away game the Sooners played, just because the other team was so excited to take down mighty Oklahoma. We Sooner fans were like, "um hello? You do realize we we haven't had a winning season in three years?"

Utah is having a down year too. Like USC, on Saturday they lost at home by 55-21 to an unranked team with the nation's 81st-ranked defense.

                          Or something like that.

                          So I feel your pain.

I too agree with Spurrier. The Sportsmanship trophy is for losers and those who would rather lose with integrity.

well, I hate to quell all the sordid, exotic rumors, but the boring truth of it is I got a job (and sadly not the kind that pays me to post on message boards).
