  • What will happen to BM?

What will happen to BM when he doesn't have stars that shine as brightly as Hall, Colley, Unga and Pitta? What will happen when he loses his starting quarterback and best tail back to serious injuries early in the season? What will happen when his teams suffer demoralizing set backs early in the season? Those times are sure to come. Will his teams rally and finish strong, becoming bowl eligible and winning in the post season? Will he make the hard times a refiner's fire for great years to come?

BM has had it easy. He's been lucky. The real test is yet to come.
When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

When that happens BM will face a wrath far worse that what BYU fans did to Crowton.

All of these have happened to him already minus the injuries to a starting QB or RB. Bronco has responded just fine.

He'll be fine. Same could be said of Kwhitt. We shall see. Oh, and BYU doesn't rebuild, they reload, so no problem.

What SU is getting at is that in 2007 those things happened to Kwhitt. They havent really happened to Bronco yet.

SU is as subtle as a sledge hammer. In 2006 BYU graduated Beck, Harline and Brown. In 2007 BYU lost emotional games to both UCLA and Tulsa in back to back weeks without their stars. They came back to win 10 straight. Minus the injuries to star QB's and RB's, Bronco has gone through this and done fine. And while a QB or RB didn't have a serious injury, BYU had a terrible time keeping a secondary healthy that year and ended the season with a walk on secondary and still kept winning. Bronco has proven he can overcome turmoil and continue to win.

The real challenge he is about to go through is if he can refocus a team divided and correct mental weakness that showed this year. Kyle went through that last year also. Some of his team started to question him and his methods. He listened and corrected some of it and the team responded.

Honestly, I don't think BM is good at dealing with "stars." He is much more comfortable relying on the hardworking but limited talent players. Guys like Collie and Hall in glamour positions and too good not to have egos. Bronco needs to learn how to coach that up instead of letting it impact the team. That's the real challenge in my opinion.
