BYU BB it could be argued has been as successful or more so than football and yet the enthusiasm is just not the same. Perhaps it is the sport itself.
I myself though am becoming more of a FB fan in the same way I am a BB fan. I watch every game and hurt when they lose. However, I only attend the big games in person.

Wyoming's coach (Lloyd Eaton) kicked all the AA players off the team because they said they would boycott a game against a racist college. I wonder how long Boise would remain a ranked team if Peterson did that?Originally posted by YOhio View PostHmmm...what happened that Wyoming would suddenly take such a big plunge?
Of course, we all know that boycotts are the worst possible thing a human being could do to another regardless of the cause. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

wow livecoug
you certainly can read things the way you want.
Maybe with you the Y winning 30 per cent of the titles is alright but it wont be with the majority of the Y fans.
Bronco will not coach the Y for long as he will get a higher church calling.

If your point is that BYU now has competition in the form of Utah and TCU, that's obvious. Yes, most Y fans are delusional in thinking BYU should win every year. Maybe I misunderstood, but you made it sound like BYU was done, basically. I think all 3 teams will compete yearly for the title.Originally posted by runnutz View Postyou certainly can read things the way you want.

MWC Championships don't mean much to me as a BYU fan. If the MWC gets an AQ bid, then yes I'd have a whole different take on the subject. I'll take our victory over Oklahoma if it meant giving up the MWC title.Originally posted by runnutz View PostBut if those three do split, and BYU wins 3 of the next 10 titles do you think the Y fans are going to be happy with that. I don't
The problem with the MWC, if our Champion doesn't go to a BCS game, then they are playing in Vegas. We need better bowl tie-ins and Thompson is not getting it done.

I realize that Ute fans would like to claim these last two years as the demise of BYU football, but it really says more about the lack of knowledge Ute fans have. Two years does not make a football program. With the recent history of the Ute program, their fans would like to think this way. Remember only four years ago, BYU was coming off a 6-6 season. Before that was even worse. Since then BYU has multiple 10 win seasons, two MWC championships and two bowl wins. That doesn't seem too bad to me. BYU is still working through the damage done in the Crowton years. Now if BYU struggles with TCU for the next five year I will be concerned, but two years is nothing big."To the man who only has a hammer, everything he encounters begins to look like a nail."
