  • Its interesting How Match up work

Case #1 Utah v Air Force : For some reason they are always so tough for Utah to figure out. Offensively AF confuses utah and defensively they always get turnovers. BYU plays AF and due to their size and matchups AF never even comes close.

Case #2 TCU v BYU : All the speed kills byu. Utah can play them tough but byu always gets pounded.

You said it. Utah always does well against the triple option, yet turnovers and one or two big pass plays keeps the Zoomies in the game.

I'm just glad we have them in the rearview now.

I wish we could play NM twice and skip AFA.

I dunno. UNM has been a thorn in the Utes side ever since the beginning of the MWC. Hopefully, that was because of Rocky Long.

I think that this is the big thing. rocky's 3-3-5 always seems to frustrate us. Hopefully, he left that magic in Albuquerque and didn't take any with him to San Diego.

Though Air Force plays Utah tough, Utah almost always wins. I think they have now won 5 out of the last 6.

The crappy team that always plays BYU tough is San Diego State. I do not know what it is but they always bring their A game against BYU. On the flip side BYU seems to own Air Force.

Oddly enough, Air Force is the only team that has a winning record against Utah: 14-12 (IIRC, and taking saturday's game into account). We have been closing that gap lately.

Unless you subscribe to the BYU view that football wasn't invented until 1972, then BYU also has an edge.
