Cutler is a top 5 QB talent-wise but he doesn't produce the results.

Without looking it up, so don't quote me, he threw something like over 4000 yards with 25+ TD. Enough results to get him to the Pro-Bowl.

I am assuming you are talking about wins. I dont think you can put the Broncos woes on Cutler last year.

They had the 2nd best offense in the league behind only the saints. They had the 2nd worst defense.

Cutler had 4500 yards passing and 25 tds.

Also, Peyton Hillis (undrafted rookie fullback) was the Broncos' leading rusher last year. It's not as if he had LT/Sproles in his backfield to take opposing defenses' focus off the passing game.

The whole argument started because I am a die hard Chargers fan. My position is that Rivers is in the top 4 in the NFL.

My top 4 were:
Brady
P. Manning
Big Ben (only for having won 2 Superbowls, not that I think he is all great
Rivers

Followed by
The other manning
McNabb
Cutler (who I despise greatly)


I had forgotten about Brees, probabbly because I was pissed when he got traded, and also because he couldnt get it done in the playoffs. Rivers was a pleasant surprise, and gained higher mention than Brees because he won a playoff game. So I put Brees out of my mind, and actually started hating him.

Now that I remember Brees (feelings aside), I would put him Top 5, behind rivers or move Rivers to 3 and Brees 4 and kick Rothlisberger down.

The whole contention started because the Tick said Rivers was a top 20 QB at best and how could I possibly think he was top 4. He knows talking trash about the Chargers gets my blood boiling, so he may have been egging me on.

Rivers is extremely overrated and is fortunate to be surrounded by ample talent at nearly every offensive position and to have one of the better defenses in the league. Those things make him look a lot better than he really is. Stick him on, say, the Colts last year, and he would have looked pretty average, IMO.

I think "extremely overated" is a little rough. He has done wonders concidering the injuries he and those surrounding him have had the past 2 years. Tomlinson has been a non-issue, Gates was playing hurt, and the defense was without Merriman. I'd really like to see what they can do if everyone could stay healthy the whole season. Better than 8-8 for sure.

Tick, sorry you are right, you said top 10. Nick said top 20 and thats because he thinks Rivers is an asshole. I find that most people who think Rivers is overrated is due to the fact that they dont like him personally.

34 tds 11 ints, 4000 yards and the leagues highest passer rating with an injured LdT, an injured antonio Gates, and Vincent Jackson and Chris Chambers as your two best options? You sound like Funk talking baseball, please get rid of the Bronco bias for a second. He is a very good QB.

He had a great season, but he's going to have to do it again before I start lumping him in with Manning and Brady. In short, I like your choice of words-"very good"--as they support my argument that Drunk is overrating him (as are most Charger fans).
