See it's that Minotoro fight that has me hesitant. Mir looked dang good and I'm trying to understand what that was. Mir is talented no doubt. His BJJ is world class. He's a great wrestler. And as you've stated in that fight with Mino his striking was amazing. Part of me wonders if it just wasn't the octagon curse getting to Nog, despite his previous wins. But Nog is someone who went the distance with Fedor. Not once, but twice! That is unreal.

The Nog that went the distance with Fedor is not the same Nog that fought Mir. Nor is it the same Fedor those fights were 5 and 6 years ago. Nogueira is past his prime now.

Remember that this fight was supposed to happen back at UFC 98 but Mir was hurt again. That may play a role as the longer Lesnar has to train the better fighter he will become. Mir was laid up for a few months because of his knee.

Yeah that is a huge point. No one probably knows what his health really is but him and his doc, but perhaps he could have fought before and was just being super cautious so that he is 100% now. Guess we'll see.

True. You think Nog is past his prime? He's still pretty young. He just looks old. And for someone with his resume, he doesn't have a ton of professional fights. Though I am sure he has a ton of other, non-sanctioned bouts.

I truly believe Mir is the best. But I may be crazy. Lesnar is one huge dude and a freak athletically. It really is a toss up and with Heavies, it only take one blow and night night.

Yeah me too. Three great, great fights. Alves should give GSP a good test. But can anyone remember the last time there was this much hype and anticipation over a heavyweight fight? The only way this would get bigger is if somehow they lure Fedor in to fight the winner. But I love watching Mir and Lesnar talk trash. Lesnar is a showman which adds to it. The longer that fight goes, the more I like Mir, but Lesnar could finish it early if he stick to his plan, is patient and doesn't do anything stupid like last time. Watching the replay of their first fight, if Mir doesn't tuck his chin and move his head better he might be looking for it in the 10th row.

That was must see TV for any MMA fan when Lesnar and Mir broke down that fight. I loved Mir throwing out technical terms and saying "Dont worry Brock I will tell you what those mean later."

Then Lesnar firing back with "Did he come up with all of this on his own?" I also love how he calls him "Frank Merr"
