I think you missed my point. Nobody in Lane County or the State of Oregon cares about college baseball. However many care about football and basketball. Since the University of Oregon is of the mindset that everything it does has to be world class or not at all, people that give donations in good faith to the athletic department to support the football or basketball team will start seeing that money going to something they don't care about.

I am sure there are many that care about college baseball, many of the southern schools and California schools. It just is not a popular sport in the pacific northwest.

I don't think the impressive licensing numbers are a function of the aesthetics of the logo itself as much as a function of the population of Texas and the recent success of Longhorn fb and bb.

Of course. But it is a well-designed, simple logo. Instantly recognizable and unique. I read an article once that argued that it is a great trademark from a marketing viewpoint. Kind of like the Nike swoosh.

I used to buy lots of Texas paraphanelia each time I would visit Austin on business (once a year or so). My kids would always wear it and thought it was fun to be a little unique at school. Then after Texas beat USC for the NC, it seemed like every other kid at school was wearing Texas gear. Kids are like sheep sometimes.
