Damn, if LeBron had finished that dunk near the end. LeBron was probably already there, but he cemented himself as top 5 ever in this series. I know he didn't shoot particularly well tonight, but the defense, passing and rebounding were.

LeBron is pretty good.

lol. Nevermind the fact that if Cleveland's role players make half their wide open threes, LeBron finishes with at least 15 assists (still he had 11), he had 11 rebounds and again protected the rim like a mad man. For anybody to say stuff like that, it is to ignore every other aspect of the game outside of scoring - and LeBron still had 27, hitting all 3 FTs when he got fouled by Ezeli down the stretch and then a HUGE three that didn't seem that big at the time, but brought them from 86-87 to 89-87, and then the game sealing FT putting them up by 4.Originally posted by New Mexican Disaster View PostWas the real mvp, at least tonight.
Lebron actually scored 9 of Cleveland's last 12 points.Last edited by smokymountainrain; 06-20-2016, 06:14 AM.I'm like LeBron James.

Last night was the first time in a long time where I actually found the NBA enjoyable to watch. Props to LJ for getting it done in Cleveland.
Two things though. I found it hilarious when in the post game interview LJ wondered aloud why God seemed to continue to put him in the "worst situations". Uh, haha, sure LeBron, sure. Also, it seems that pretty much everything LJ does after the final horn is contrived. He knows the camera is on him and he is trying really really hard to create lasting images. I like LeBron enough and am captivated watching one of the best ever, but that stuff bugs.

Hey guys remember that time DDD said Lebron to Miami was a failure (like 20 games into their first season) when they were barely over .500 but had the second highest point differential in the NBA and I said give Lebron time he is unstoppable and will win plenty of NBA Championships and then DDD said the Lakers were still going to be good and stuff? That was fun -- whatever happened to that DDD character -- he was hilarious.

LeBron is one of my favorite non-Jazz/BYU/Orioles players of all time, but I agree with all of that - it does bug, but such small potatoes as it relates to the way he prepares and plays the game and seems to be a good guy off the court. I wish he handled himself more like DWade and Kyrie in the situations you describe.Originally posted by imanihonjin View PostTwo things though. I think the three teams that broke regular season W-L records in the three major sports didn't win the championship in that year. The Mariners, the Patriots, and the Warriors. Is that right? When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

LeBron might be a great player and a good dude even, but he is so unlikable. I'm not a fan of either team that played last night, but in my gut I noticed I was kind of hoping Golden State would win.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostLeBron is one of my favorite non-Jazz/BYU/Orioles players of all time, but I agree with all of that - it does bug, but such small potatoes as it relates to the way he prepares and plays the game and seems to be a good guy off the court. Compare that to MJ - who was a competitive SOB and a stone cold killer, but also likable enough - for whatever reason - that I didn't hate him when his teams beat mine and found myself emotionally hoping Chicago would win even when intellectually I was thinking that they'd won enough and maybe it would be nice for someone else to have a turn.

I am convinced a lot of the Lebron haters were also Jordan haters when he was in his prime. They love him now, but when he was playing they all hated him. Lebron will be the same way, 15 years from now everyone will talk about how much they love him.Originally posted by Eddie View PostLeBron might be a great player and a good dude even, but he is so unlikable. I don't know what it is about LeBron that people don't like. I find myself rooting against him and I can't put my finger on it. BTW I loved MJ when he was playing and rooted for the Bulls in every championship except when they faced the Lakers, and I actually dislike the retired MJ quite a bit. In particular I think his whole HOF speech tainted how I feel about him. I think maybe if MJ played in the time of social media and heightened media scrutiny we would have had a different opinion on him when he was playing.Dyslexics are teople poo...

None of this a knock on Steph. He is amazing- best shooter I've ever seen, and so fun to watch play. I'm a big fan of SC. He is also in the perfect situation - Klay is likely the 2nd best shooter in the league and Draymond is a chameleon. Curry on the Net/Twolves/Bucks gets them 10 more wins. Lebron on any of those teams, based upon previous history, makes them a contender.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostTristan Thompson (and LBJ) has taken a lot of crap about his contract but he has been fantastic in the finals. His rebounding has been huge, as expected. His points have been a nice bonus for Cleveland. What has impressed me the most is his D. TT has been fantastic on switches and pick and roll. I can't count the number of times he has guarded Steph straight up outside the arc and more than held his own; plus he is quick enough to recover and help in the post.
