My guess is that Bonds gets in eventually. He was already a HOFfer before enhancing, and I think the voters will consider that. The juicing will end up moving him from first-ballot status to an "after a while" guy. Contrast that with a guy like Sosa, who - although he was one of my favorites - clearly moved from a marginal player to a dominant one due to the drugs.

I am going to have to sacrifice the first 70 games of the season next year and hope for a similar deal.

When Luhnow left St. Louis for Houston, he took a database of players and metrics he built with him. He also left behind a list of passwords. Cards just guessed his password (based on the list he left behind).

    They are both idiots.

It's too bad Dee Gordon is playing for a dumpster fire of a team like the Marlins. I imagine Dodgers fans are wondering what could have been. He has nearly double the amount of stolen bases this year (16) than the whole Dodgers organization combined (9), and his batting average not only leads the league (.386), it's 40 points higher than the Dodgers' leading hitter, Gonzalez (.346) but 100 points higher than the Dodgers' team average and he's done that with more at bats than Dodger (20 more than Gonzalez).

The dude is playing out of his mind, and I hope he lands a big contract with a team that I can stand (Yankees/BoSox need not apply) because one thing is for sure. He won't be playing with Miami next year.

As long as Barry Bonds doesn't get in, I'm cool with it. The main thing at this point is to keep Barry Bonds out.

What it comes down to is every player is doing what they can to make their bodies perform better. And MLB is still willing to let them take whatever they want as long as there is a medical basis for it. e.g. A-Rod takes, with MLB's blessing, testosterone because he is naturally low. When a player took or takes something without first obtaining medical clearance, that player broke the rules, and whether the advantage was small or great doesn't really matter. Like Neyer says in a later article, "If two students cheat on a test and one gets and 92 and one gets a 73, does the C student have less integrity than the A student?"
the difference is that nobody, and I mean nobody really sees the widespread use of amphetamines as a threat to the integrity of the game, mainly because amphetamines does not enhance physical strength in the way that steroids do. So I repeat, nobody tainted by STEROIDS will ever get into the Hall.

It has already been proven that amphetamine use, while banned by MLB, has not entered into the national psyche as a performance enhancing drug to the point that people view it as a serious sin that undermines their integrity. Sure, they don't get tired, and might even react faster in certain situations, but they're not hitting/throwing the ball farther, running faster, or throwing 100 mph fastballs because they had speed in their coffee, but nobody, and I mean nobody looks on amphetamine use in baseball as something that threatens/undermines the integrity of the game in the way that steroids has and does.

ARod is low because he used for a long time, your body makes less testosterone when you have been artificially boosting your supply.

Are you sure? Maybe he could care less about the NL west. Maybe even a lot less.

    Mets have already cooled down.

The Astros are headed there this week.

The Cards will be good all year, but the will not sustain this crazy level of performance they had the first six weeks. Watch for the Cubs to surge!

The Yankees don't have the depth to sustain, IMO.
