I shouldn't laugh at your misfortune but that is kind of funny.

I wonder if some of you don't understand the point of this game. It's a survivor league, so you want to pick winners. Generally when you're trying to survive by picking winners, it's a good idea to pick good teams.

Anyway, just a tip for next year's league. The more people participating, the more fun it is.

If you want an easy payday 51 weeks from now, just drop as much money as you can get together on the money line of whatever team I pick against in this.

I really have no idea on the rules so I'll ask, can we pick the same team twice? I figure we can't but just making sure.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Nope...just one and done. That's why folks try to get clever in the early weeks and save the Seattle's of the NFL for later in the season (should they get there).

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Too close in week 1. Crazy weekend. I'll wait until later in the week this time.

I saw the 17-0 JAX lead over PHI at halftime when I was checking scores on my phone, and I assumed the internet was broken. To their credit, the Eagles showed up for the second half. That would have been like the Patriots loss a couple of years ago that took half the field out.

This first weekend was scary. Lots of teams I thought would be good ended up losing. Seems like the NFL is about to have another parity shift.

                              Week 1 Results

Out of the 22 participants in week 1, 19 advanced. It was a popular and successful week for the Keystone State. Of the 19 advancing, 15 had either Philadelphia (10) or Pittsburgh (5).

2014 BigPiney Award - The 2014 BigPiney Award for earliest exit goes to Donuthole, HuskyFreeNorthwest, and - you guessed it - BigPiney. BP has now gone out in the first week for (at least) 3 years in a row.

Here is a link to a spreadsheet with the results:
