Parade is Wednesday.

Starts at 9:30AM at 11th & Fig, rolls down Fig towards SC. Finish at the Coliseum at 11AM for the rally, video, trophy presentation, Mark Madsen dancing, etc.

My dillema: Coliseum gates open at 9:30AM. Free admission. They are opening up the field, so that means that about 120K will be able to get in. But it will fill up fast.

So do we go early and get into the Coliseum and wait....or go early along the parade route and take pics, see them pass for a second, and then walk down to SC and hang around outside? I guess there is an outside chance we could still get into the stadium, but doubtful.

Congrats, Lakers fans. You guys are going to be very tough to beat for years to come, too.

Can I go ahead and declare the Houston Rockets the second-best team in the NBA this season? After all, the Rockets took the Lakers to 7 games and didn't even have Yao Ming for the last 3 games of the series.

I think that is what we are going to do....head down to the Coliseum early and soak up the scene.

I am going to swing by Staples tomorrow and get one of those adidas hats.

Also, Mitch just called it....they want Odom AND Ariza back and are going to do everything they can to get it done.

Those are really cool. I'm still mad that the Super Bowl hats were so fugly this year. Maybe Reebok should take a lesson in design from adidas.

Adidas and Reebok are one and the same. But ugly SB hats this past year were unavoidable, considering the winner and all. Black and yellow is among the most hideous of all color combinations.

Has LA ever won a championship where they were not the clear favorite at the beginning of the season? I ask because there's a certain amount of fun in winning a championship you didn't expect, even on a smaller stage.

Rooting for Goliath every year has to get old eventually, right?

And in a further attempt to marginalize this championship, I just want to point out that this NBA season was a weak one. What team was a serious threat to LA? Sure, the Rockets took them to seven games, but that was the Lakers being disinterested, not any measure of the talent involved. San Antonio? Boston? Cleveland? Dallas? Meh meh meh meh.

I'm just saying for Laker fans, this can't be all that thrilling. It's the 15th championship, so there's none of the euphoria of a first championship. Shoot, it's only been six years since the last one. And LA didn't defeat any great teams, nor were there any available to beat.

It has a feeling of "ho hum" to me.

I don't expect any Laker fans to agree.

I'm not sure LA was the clear favorite this year with Boston returning everybody except Posey. Nobody really knew the extent of KG's injury until the post season came. When the regular season ended, the consensus seemed to be the title was LeBronze's to lose. Nobody (except maybe Mark Grace!) was talking about Cleveland's warts. Some wondered if the Cavs would even lose an Eastern Conference playoff game before reaching the Finals. The Lakers looked disinterested and not very deep in the Houston and Denver series. Then they dispatch of the Magic in 5 and now we're revisionists.

Trust me when I say it never gets ho-hum when your team wins a championship. I'm old enough to remember 8 Laker titles (I barely remember Magic's rookie year or I would count it too), and they've all been exhillerating. Fisher's threes in game 4 had me yelling and screaming like the Kobe lob to Shaq to put away the Blazers in 2000. Orlando was a worthy opponent and could have easily taken 2 of the games they ended up losing. Sorry, but I'm not going to let you piss out my campfire.
