I have nothing against Kobe, but are you really going to argue that Kobe is more resilient than Malone was? I think that is a stretch, and not proven through numbers.

Karl Malone's first 18 seasons in the NBA, about where Kobe would be with 4 years of college next year.

Kobe's first 13 seasons in the NBA
played 948 of 1034 games for 91.7%

To compare the most similar player in terms of wear and tear to Kobe, KG through his first 14 seasons
1055 of 1116 for 94.5%, however if you take his first 13 seasons through last year 998 of 1034 for 96.5%

Kobe is a durable player, by no reasonable measure is he "more resilient than the healthiest NBA players." I hope no ill will on Kobe, but to say that he isn't going to slow down over the next couple years, or break down, seems at best a stretch.

By resilient I meant his ability to come back from injuries that normally would have sidelined most players for much longer and his ability to play through injuries. His shoulder a few years back for example. That would have sidelined most players months maybe even the season and he was back very fast. His pinky last year that required season ending surgery that he played through and still hasn't had operated on. Those two players you mentioned never suffered big injuries until late in their careers.

I don't doubt that his numbers will go down. He has a strong cast around him so he doesn't have to do as much and there's no question that his own body will begin to break down. But he'll still be one of the top 3 players in the league for 4-5 more years. He'll still average around 25, 5, and 5. Be one of the best defenders in the game. And he'll have some heavy hands with his rings.

Touche'. He did have the knee cleaned out during the off-season back in '03 I think. But for said bending over, the Lakers might still be saddled with Shaq's contract. It's amazing what a chain reaction a little back-door action can cause.

I never heard it either and it seemed if that were the case, then the girl would have had more physical proof than what was revealed to the media. As it turns out, the physical evidence was lacking because the girl was banging a different guy every day. It's no minor problem when you find another dude's semen and pubic hair when you're gathering physical evidence in a rape case. It also didn't help that she was casually joking about the sex with friends and also sounded like she was a bit of a nutcase.

I know intercourse occurred with her bent over a chair. I don't know if it was anal or vaginal. But I've never heard anal as I am sure that would have been brought to light with additional charges if it that were the case.

Of course, for reasons related to this line of thinking, past sexual history can't be introduced by the defense in rape cases. The only reason why this girl's past became relevant was because it greatly diminished the physical evidence that had been gathered.
