Welcome to today's NBA, where six teams have all the stars and the rest of us should just be happy to be in the league.Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

The entire trade is predicated on Dwight walking away and leaving ORL with nothing. Bynum and Dwight have fairly similar salaries. I think it will be Dwight and junk for Bynum and junk.
I agree that an all-star PG isn't needed.lol.Originally posted by Jacob View PostOlando's leverage is that they have Dwight and they don't have to trade him to LA. More leverage against LA is that LA has no chance of signing Dwight as a free agent because of how much salary they have committed. The only leverage LA has is that they have 4 All-Star caliber players. But they have zero young talent or bargain salaries to offer.

I haven't followed the NBA as much in recent years but Gasol passing from the high post with Howard down on the blocks seems like something you unlock in a video game.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostLAL gets DHoward, Philly gets Bynum and JRich, Denver gets Iggy and Orlando loses DHoward and receives a pile of shit. The trade Orlando didn't take:
@WojYahooNBA
Final Nets offer Orlando rejected in July: Lopez, Humphries (1 year, $9.6M), Brooks, 4 unprotected No. 1's for Howard, JRich, Duhon, Clark.

Draft Bynum
Stand down Kobe
Trade for Pow in exchange for junk.
Bring in Tru Warrior.
Get Nash for nothing.
Trade for D12.
3 trips to the Finals.
2 titles.
Mitch is actually a pretty good GM

Seriously. Jerry West taught him well. They must play some Jedi mind tricks when they call other GMs.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostDraft Bynum

Of course. But why would Orlando care about sending Dwight someplace he wanted to go? They were under no obligation to do so. None of the teams after him made his signing an extension a condition of the trade. Certainly not the Rockets or Nets who offered way more for Dwight.Originally posted by kimchicoug View PostIt helps when you're one of the two destinations that a player wants to go.
