What was crazy is that it was almost like he was turning in to try and hit a pitch that never had anything but trajectory toward his head. I realize it's tough to make that split second decision, but in most instances a dude is turning away from that thing, not into it.

Just wanted to bump this thread for funk. Between a posting about how he doesn't care about BYU (while posting on a BYU board), and offering his insight into preseason hockey, there isn't much time to talk about the historic collapse of the A's.

Um, don't lump me in with the Ute fans that lie about not caring about our rival or the BYU fans that lie about not caring about the Utes. I absolutely care about Utah's rival.

The collapse has sucked. It is killing me that the A's gave up Addison Russell for this. I was right, it was a horrible trade.

As the season winds to a close, it is certainly looking like that everyone that criticized the Miguel Cabrera contract was right. In the first year of the deal, he significantly regressed.

Cabrera's offensive WAR wasn't even top 10 this year. Not top 10 in OPB or SLG.

He also went from playing 145 games at 3B to 10 games at 3B this year. He is basically now a full time 1B or DH, so you no longer have the benefit of getting offensive production from a position that generally provides little offensive production.

He has significantly regressed in year one and you can expect more regression as the contract goes on.

People need to give credit to mpfunk for stuff like this. He is one of the most honest Ute fans, besides maybe Katy Lied.
