    America's Cup - 2013 San Francisco

The grace, elegance, and power these boats exhibit is beautiful to behold. The Kiwi's are clearly the superior team, but I love watching them race even though its not competitive.

is it going to actually happen? there were safety issues then funding issues.

Actually, it's almost over. It's the first to 9 points and the Kiwi's are up 6-0. I'm thinking Larry Ellison might be so frustrated that he actually quits sponsoring the series.

It was fun to watch them Sunday on TV. I thought it was a shame they had gotten away from 12 metre yachts but those boats they are racing now are sailboats on steroids. The speed and maneuverability are amazing.

I saw a bit last week as I woke up from a nap. They've doubled in speed since 2007.

As long as we have Dennis Conner, we should win.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Even without Dennis Conner, the American's adjusted their boat and won today. Second race aborted due to high wind.

Team USA ties it 8-8 after being down 8-0, pretty incredible comeback. I've watched a few races, including the one that started this comeback: NZ was on its way to victory when it almost capsized.

Watching it live is certainly something to behold, especially when they get up on their hydrofoils, it is incredible. However, watching on TV is almost as good with all the metrics they have showing live. There are Kiwis everywhere in San Francisco, so I'm sort of pulling for them since Team USA isn't really American, anyways. I'd upload some video I took but the ones you can see on YouTube of the catamarans literally flying will be much better than mine.

And there you go. In a remarkable comeback, Team Oracle, I mean USA, wins the cup beating NZ/Emirates rather easily in the winner take all final race. It was a gorgeous day on the Bay and a good time was had by all, except the kiwis.

In a blow against jingoism everywhere I arrived early to participate in a pro team kiwi and anti team Ellison haka dockside for the kiwi crew before the were taken out to the catamaran. It didn't work. But it was fun.

Unbelievable, i feel terrible for team NZ/Emirates. I wonder if this means it'll be back in SF next time.

As a BYU fan, you should already know that the Haka rarely works.
