1. I am of the opinion that you never pay a goalie big money. Bowman really did screw up giving Crawford 6 mil. They should have let him walk like they did with Niemi after 2010.

2. Since the number of shots taken has the highest correlation to wins, then puck possession is the name of the game. This is why the Kings are better this year. They are much deeper and better able to possess the puck across all four lines and two out of their three defensive pairings.

Flystripper speaks truth again. It is all about puck possession in the NHL.

Best 5 on 5 team CORSI percentage in 2013-2014. The LA Kings at 56.8. The 2nd best best team was the Blackhawks at 55.5. The Rangers may seem like a bit of a surprise in the finals from the East, but they were actually the 2nd best 5 on 5 CORSI% from the Eastern conference.

Kings were first in 5 on 5 Fenwick percentage with the Blackhawks 2nd.

Going into the playoffs the Kings and Blackhawks were the 2 best teams and it was because of puck possession.

the kings are clearly the best team in the salary cap era. The only club to win twice in three seasons. Also, no phony lockout shortened season trophies.
