So glad we traded a prospect and two draft picks to swap Halak and Stewart for Ott and Miller, neither of whom should be re-signed.

I can't believe we have mortgaged our future for Bouwmeester and Miller the last two trade deadlines to blow consecutive 2-0 leads in the first round.

The Blues are just a doomed franchise. This is our golden era, and we have fuck-all to show for it.

I didn't like the Miller deal for the Blues. Blues have horrible luck with playoff draws. Any other team in the west they win the first round series.

The status of the Blues is not as bleak as you are making out. Unfortunately they are in the same division as the Blackhawks and with the changes to the postseason format, the Blues were forced into a ridiculous first round matchup. Teresenko is a young emerging superstar. Backes and Oshi are tremendous. Steen Sobotka and Schwartz are also fantastic. The Blues scare me more than any other team in the west. The only real weakness you have from my perspective is that you could use a better skating blue line to compliment your speed and skill on the offensive end. The only guy I really trust on your d is Pietrangelo.

That Kings game last night was awesome.

Going to be a hell of a game on Wednesday. There is going to be a small MMA match that breaks out I am sure.

Congrats to the Kings, you are one step closer to losing to the Blackhawks in the Western Conference finals.

It really is a damn shame that the 4 best teams in the west played in the first round. It is also a damn shame that those teams are also 4 of the 5 best teams in the NHL. The Bruins have such an easy road to the Stanley Cup finals.

Really interesting points on the Blackhawks-Blues series. Pretty damn impressive the play of Hammer and Handzus on the penalty kill. Blackhawks have got to clean up their play and not get so many damn penalties.

The Blackhawks have to feel fortunate their 29 minor penalties in the series didn’t come back to haunt them. The Blues scored just twice on 29 power plays, and Handzus and Hjalmarsson had a lot to do with that. Of the Blues’ 52:37 of power-play time in the series, Hjalmarsson was on the ice for 31:40 of it and Handzus had 30:26 of ice time. Both blocked multiple shots and cleared many pucks. Fans began chanting “Zus” during the series whenever Handzus did something positive on the penalty kill.

How does Drew Doughty not get a Norris Trophy nomination this year? I think Chara is better on the defensive end but for overall play I think Doughty is the best defense man in the NHL.

You are wrong about who is the best defenseman in the NHL, it is Duncan Keith. Keith is the best overall defenseman in the NHL. I have no problem with Doughty being excluded in favor of Weber.

The Kings are up 2-1 at the end of the 2nd. That would be a hell of a comeback if they can close this one up. The West is absolutely brutal. If you are ranking the top 5 teams in the league it is the Blackhawks, Blues, Kings, Sharks, and Bruins. You can rank them however you want, but those are absolutely the top 5. The Bruins have such an easy road to the Stanley Cup final and if they win it will because of that easy road.
