So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Well, the C's have a few picks now.

          The treasure trove: draft picks

Thanks to the Nets trade and the pick they received from the Los Angeles Clippers as compensation for Doc Rivers, Boston holds at least nine first-round picks in the next five drafts, and 2017 (when the Celtics can swap picks with Brooklyn) is the only draft until 2019 where they don't have an extra first-rounder. Yesterday's trade may have added a 10th first-round pick to the stockpile, as Boston received a lottery-protected pick from the Philadelphia 76ers that will convert to two second-round picks if the Sixers do not make the playoffs in 2014-15.

Right, but those picks come via Miami. GS doesn't lose any picks, right? That's a screaming deal.

              • Brooklyn is now 4-1 without Deron Williams since his most recent injury. All 5 games have been against teams over .500

The win streak (6 of 7) happened to coincide with the return of AK47 (who doesn't seem to be contributing much on the stat sheet).

Joe Johnson is on a roll since Deron went out and was not contributing hardly any points before the injury (5 consecutive single-digit scoring games before Deron's injury)

                • In a loss the other night to Portland, Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard only played the first 38 seconds of the 4th and then sat until the last minute.

Former Ute coach Jim Boylen took over in the 3rd quarter after Pop was ejected. When Kawhi was asked why he sat so long, he said Boylen told him after the game "he was so caught up in the game he forgot about me".

                  LOL.

I've always wondered if that happens sometimes to NBA/College coaches. Apparently is does happen to at least one NBA assistant.

He's got a career high ast% right now (12.9) and of course has the great low TO%. And during that stretch his points/shot is up to 1.35, incredible for Al. So for 5 games he's actually acting like he's worth that contract. Too bad that on the season his points/shot is at 1.08, the worst rate of his career. But even though I like to hard on that, Jefferson is about middle of the road in the league in points/possession because of how well he avoids turnovers (i.e. just holds onto the ball forever and then shoots). He's an average offensive player, an average rebounder, and below average defender that is finally in a system that can hide his defensive deficiencies better. Which means Charlotte gave him all of that money to help hang around the 6-10 seeds in the East for a few years.

But how about MK-G in Charlotte? A PER of 10.8 this year. So much for that "winner" component he had in spades coming out of college. He's about as much of a winner as Adam Morrison right now.

So he's putting up big numbers and his team is now winning at a better clip than before.

The MKG thing scares me a bit with Marcus Smart.

Yeah, MKG isn't looking much like a young Gerald Wallace these days.
